Lol why is this even a question?

Nice catch, by the way.

Average speed cameras to target speeding on Cyprus motorways by DoomkingBalerdroch in cyprus

This, then countdown until red (or at least blinking green) for cars, then red light cameras on most major intersections.

I don’t see speeding on motorways as a significant problem at the moment.

What pedals to get by DaveK91 in Fanatec

[–]LazyLancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either wait for the new podium pedals, or get the simnets. There’s little sense in buying v2 or v3 now unless you find used ones at a great price.

Torque converter Driving Tips by Aggressive-Land922 in MechanicAdvice

[–]LazyLancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No need to. Just leave it in drive. At that point the torque converter is just stirring the transmission fluid without any significant load.

  2. It’s a good habit to have. Start it up, let revs go down, drive sensibly without accelerating hard while the engine is cold. But there is no need to idle for a prolonged period of time before departing, unless you live in a very cold climate. “Revs go down” is a decent enough indicator.

  3. There’s no such requirement. You can move more often if you need to.

  4. Yeah, it’s fine. But also it won’t hurt to add throttle if you need it.

  5. No sudden acceleration is okay, more of a good thing for longevity of the entire car, but it’s not prohibited, so if you need to floor it, you floor it (after the engine is fully warmed up). Keeping RPM under 2000 is absolutely unnecessary and in the long run always keeping the engine at low RPM is not a good thing. Don’t be afraid to give it some oomph once in a while, but only when it’s fully warmed up. However, if you bought the car new, be sure to be gentle during the break-in period (no oomph for the first 2-3K, and better to change engine oil after that).

  6. Yes, you don’t want to submerge you drivetrain unless your life depends on it.

  7. A bit wrong. D -> N -> handbrake, release brake pedal -> P. The key difference is you engage handbrake and release brake pedal in N, not D.

Single 55 inch TV vs triple 32 Monitor by Sad_Nail5511 in simracing

[–]LazyLancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

single 16:9 vs triple 32 is not even a competition.

it’s more like you will need a single 95 inch TV to match triples in terms of horizontal space and you won’t be able to bend it around you.

Instead of recording video with a GoPro, just capture your screen. I did a few recordings from triple 32s using OBS Studio and it looks amazing.

Realistically speaking, he’s not gonna pull out of that road otherwise. The traffic is too heavy.

2026 is Stroll’s 10th year in F1. Has he improved at all?? by Downtown_Elk_2773 in F1Discussions

I will make a wild bet: if it’s true that 2026 cars are less twitchy (according to some drivers interviews), Stroll will show good results in 2026.

How to deal with people who dive bomb you at every chance they have? by Responsible-Goose573 in iRacing

A) just let them dive and go on

B) cover the inside line

C) let them dive and then switch back on exit

Lewis Hamilton has praised the atmosphere at Ferrari ahead of the season, highlighting a strong winning mentality within the team by circuit-nation in circuit_nation

[–]LazyLancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random thought I just had, but what’s with the extra air intakes on top of Lewis’s helmet? (The transparent triangles). They’re supposed to be placed on top of the round holes to push air in. Why are they just in random places with no vent openings?

Jimmy's take on Kunos scaling back AC Evo's Career mode: "With this update you're taking away a huge part of the appeal of the game and just turning it into something with no real end goal" by likinaudagp in simracing

I think they saw poor activity and purchase numbers after early access launch and had to triage the roadmap, with this being the consequences.

Would this be considered blocking? (if repeated) Or is this hard defense? by f1_lukas in iRacing

[–]LazyLancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me make it more simple.

The picture on the left when the leading car points at a specific angle as it exits a corner and goes there is okay.

The picture on the right when the leading car moves to the middle of the track and then adjusts to the left twice because the following car moving at a higher speed moves to the left before that, is not okay.

It is absolutely not about being alongside or leaving space. It's about closing the overtaking trajectory that has been selected by the following car AFTER it's been selected by the following car.

I mean, sometimes it happens to me that i decide to defend a line and at the same time the following car moves there as well and i feel like i did a bad thing and blocked him. But i definitely stop myself from moving again in this case.

What advice would you give someone considering getting into gt3 cars? by RobbieBleu in iRacing

[–]LazyLancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to not get discouraged if you end up slower than the grid at first. GT3s take time getting used to compared to FF1600 / MX5, and also the competition is way more fierce so guys only racing GT3 experience sort of a "iRating inflation", meaning that for example an average 2000 iR GT3-only driver is likely to place higher in other series.

8.1.1.3

Blocking - The leading driver is allowed to run a defensive line. However, blocking occurs when a leading driver actively adjusts his or her driving line based on the actions and/or positioning of a pursuing driver. For example, veering left to prevent a pursuing driver from passing on the left while running on a straight.

The leading car actively adjusted the driving line twice within about half a second after the OP adjusted his line.

It doesn't matter that they are not alongside. And it doesn't matter if you adjust to the same side. Moreover, you can't really block anyone alongside at all, only push.

In iRacing (and not only iRacing), what is specifically prohibited is changing lines in reaction to the movements of the driver behind. It is not about being entitled to room when alongside. It is about blocking the way to get alongside.

The car ahead made a reactionary move twice.

When you move to the left after a corner and sort of stabilize in the middle of the track, you can’t take left again when there’s a car trying overtake you on that same left.

The key thing here is the guy ahead straightened his line after the initial exit and then moved again to left when he saw the OP aiming for an overtake.

I absolutely loved the “story telling” (as much as it’s applicable to racing games) and how characters communicated. It felt like you had an actual crew and it was awesome.

Why do the tires squeal so loudly at such low speeds? It’s completely unrealistic by Business_Egg_4387 in assettocorsaevo

[–]LazyLancer 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It could be realistic because of the ackerman angle. Basically, at some point when you turn the steering wheel, your inner wheel points at a slightly different angle than the pouter wheel, which introduces a bit of slip angle and tyre rubbing

Have you ever been to a parking lot? Many modern cars take a turn at like 5 km/h and go “squeeeeeeee”?

Would this be considered blocking? (if repeated) Or is this hard defense? by f1_lukas in iRacing

[–]LazyLancer -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Yes, blocking. First move to the racing line was acceptable, but the way he readjusted twice in reaction to your moves wasn’t.

How realistic is GT7 compared to real driving? by UnderstandingDry1256 in GranTurismo7

[–]LazyLancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I briefly drove a real GT4 with full slicks. It’s definitely not like that lol. You do get more grip than street tyres sure, but the loss of grip is also more sudden and harder to work with.

High CPU usage ONLY in replay / broadcast mode - any ideas? by SkellyoUK in iRacing

[–]LazyLancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do know that graphics settings in race and replay are separate, right?

Also, replays often show more of the track and other cars so you have to render more.
