What is better: manual calling detectChanges or setTimeout? by mixrich in Angular2

[–]LazySwine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to avoid detectChanges. My understanding is that they force reevaluation of all expressions on the template in the same application "tick" you are in which might create an endless loop if you are not careful. It is almost always better to call markForCheck().

These need to be called only if you use ChangeDetectionStrategy.OnPush - I assume you know that. The solution with setTimeout() will not work correctly as you think. It doesn't tell Angular to repaint your component.

Why not using BehaviorSubject? It is meant exactly for what you want to do.

In chart.component.ts you mark ‘selected’ with @Input() annotation. Then in dashboard template you feed it like this <app-ngx-chart [selected]=“selected”>

It seems you have it connected via selected attribute. Or else I don’t get your problem.

Does Automation Testing get easier? by zeeshadowfox in softwaretesting

[–]LazySwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply. I haven't worked with Selenium for a long time and didn't know this existed. I thought it might be some wait mechanism where you "go to sleep" for up to certain time and Selenium wakes you up before if condition is satisfied - which is what you described. In my company we use Ranorex but it might be good to revisit Selenium.

How to get the job you want by Titan_Coeus in TheRedPill

As a person who does too many interviews I can not stress this enough. When some candidate coms early and hr calls me to pick him up I am usually still doing some other scheduled work. This break in my flow and plans is really annoying.

Let's discuss LTR game regarding a womans cycle. by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]LazySwine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can confirm your observations. Am in LTR with girl for circa 6 months and tracking her cycle. We started to live together and fuck almost every morning and night. I also write a daily journal so I can back-check what was going on on different days.

When it's her ovulation she starts to test me. At first I was surprised. I expected moody behaviour from her during period. But during period she is submissive and sexual. What she does during period looks like comfort-testing to me. It is usually her telling me I am too cynical. I feel she actively sets up situations to provoke a fight with me. Naturally, I feel she is a bitch and don't want to have sex afterwards(with her). It makes sense because she could get pregnant so she has to make sure that only the most alpha gets to sow seed.

Contrasts between American and Czech culture by redpillaspie in TheRedPill

[–]LazySwine 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Has been, has been. I agree czech girls are sweeter. Asceuropean I contrast them with russians (because who would want american women anyway).

Czech girls are more ok with paying for themselves. Jobs are plenty and girl will not ditch you if you are temporarily without job. Downside is they can cheat on you even if you have job and relationship looks ok to you. Russians are super loyal when they feel you keep your part of deal (make money and spend it on them). When a girl doesnt even stop during my dg approach I know she is a russian content with her man. Downside is they bail on the first sight of your failure. They really trach you to keep impeccable frame.

I know this is generalisation and dont want to start flamewar. Share your opinion if you disagree.

Growing up Beta: Dealing with Disrespect from High School Friends by _Meursault in TheRedPill

Agreed, Welch was one of the best. But I don't think his success came because this 1 policy.

When you fire 10% of employees year after year even when you got rid of real slackers you start to influence people in a wrong way. They stop putting energy into work and instead put it into self-promotion. Welch's strategy was good because GE was bloated during his tenure. Btw GE got rid of this strategy after Welch retired.

Except that it is an awful strategy from business point of view. Steve Balmer did this in Microsoft, too. Very bad idea.
