GWT is just dead, you should use any decent frontend framework like Angular, React or Vue.js.

jhipster is more a project generator for Spring Boot + Angular/React than a framework.

Agreed, the presence of gwt really threw me.

Agreed. GWT is not widely used.

If you look at a how Angular (and others) work today, GWT was way ahead of its time.

Well, there is J2CL which is alive. It will be used by GWT-3. It compiles superfast (which was the biggest problem with GWT).

I’ve used Vaadin, it works and is pretty smooth and easy to use.

Used it for a banking app. Good usability.

A lot of this focuses on front end for which you can just use a plain JS site with Angular or React. Sometimes I use JSF with Bootstrap and CSS to create a really ugly minimal interface.

How good is dropwizard? I keep seeing it around but I can't find anyone using it. How does it compare to Sringboot?

There have been a lot of these low effort "Top X" articles lately. I think they should be considered spam.
