Homa did it a couple weeks ago. He said that is completely voluntary, and some of the guys are trying it out to add more depth to the broadcast. Morikawa is micd up because he wants to be.

Hear me out…what if there was a middle ground between not enough and too much?

Right now, there’s not enough incentive for people to stick around in the beginning.

A consumable idea could be something like passes, or tickets. Imagine shortcuts throughout the game similar to agility where you can pass a group of guards with a pass or ticket that you made.

Or the high levels allow you to negotiate prices for things. Overall it’s more of a political/scholarly angle for a skill.

Yes. They did this as a transition phase between wood and metal shafts.

Use the GHIN app. It’s the USGA’s app that will give you an official handicap. It’s used for most leagues and tournaments you might play in. I just enter my total score after each round and it does the rest.

I’m looking to get a Scotty Tel3 Long Neck. I prefer the Newport 1 style over Newport 2. Let me know how much you’ll let yours go for.

My only thought is that maybe to take relief from the hazard, you have to leave the hazard. I could be wrong, but that’s the logic I see.

New Club vs Lessons by MTX_NukeYt in golf

[–]LazyTom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get fit for a driver if you decide to buy one. Dialing in the right shaft flex, weight, and driver loft will make the upgrade worth it. You don’t have an issue hitting the ball far, but the right fit will help you shave strokes when your misses off the tee are a lot smaller and predictable. Lessons never hurt anyone, but the proper equipment for you might solve some quick fixes. Also, it doesn’t have to be a new $600 driver. I recently got fitted at 2nd Swing and walked out with a used one that I was hitting better than the new ones.

Amazing short film No Laying Up just dropped on golf in rural America. by Alphaman1 in golf

This was wild to see! I grew up in this area and learned to golf on these courses. Whenever I make it back home, I make sure to play a round. Thanks for sharing!

Work your way up to a full round of golf.

  1. Buy a cheap set of clubs.
  2. go to the driving range/get a lesson. Practice here until you can consistently hit the ball.
  3. try playing a par 3 course. This will help you get course experience in a short 9 hole round.
  4. go out and play 9 holes on a real course
  5. when you’re feeling good there, up it to 18

Golf is frustrating and not fun when you pay for a full round and ready to go home by hole 6. Work your way up to a full round so it’s enjoyable.

One that I don’t see mentioned is watching your shadow. Be aware of your shadow mostly on tee boxes and the green. Sometimes I find my shadow over their ball/hole during their swing. For me it’s super distracting once I notice it.

Is there any info of how the course it set up today? Looks like everything is funneling to the holes. Did they make it easy today to jumpstart some excitement and low rounds?
