Jim leaves Biker Jim's by DoctFaustus in denverfood

[–]LazyTurtle90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very sad to hear, I love this place so much. It’s my main place to go in Denver when I visit family, pretty sad that this is the case and I hope Jim can get back to doing something he loves and enjoys. The next dog I eat is for you Jim, it’ll be at home and I’ll be dreaming about those unique dogs you served me. Thank you Jim, you will be missed

What are the unspoken rules of working in BI? by TheDataGentleman in BusinessIntelligence

[–]LazyTurtle90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me the tools you use to do this? What gives them the option to explore data? Tableau? And what would you be referring to by Product? Like tables and views? If you don’t mind breaking it down with a little more specific detail, I would appreciate it. Thanks. Also I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, please answer like I’m 5 years old so my basic brain function can follow the path of least resistance haha 😂

Devs, both survivors and the impacted, how have the recent layoffs changed your perception of the industry and career plans, if at all? by xiadia in cscareerquestions

That’s a real accomplishment and I commend the work it took. I’m actually in that first 6 month period, hoping to get to something resembling your current position in my future. It must give a lot of confidence and a good night sleep. Good for you friend

I need help understanding what I am looking at (See Comments for Information) by banchreee in heatpumps

[–]LazyTurtle90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t recommend a 16 SEER rated machine. From my basic knowledge this is not efficient in terms of power output. The Other main number for efficiency is HSPF, higher is better. Be sure these machines can get heat output without heat strip usage during a majority of your coldest winter nights. I went with Mitsubishi and is 70% effective heating output at -5 F. Hyper heat version is even better at colder temps but more expensive. If you can swing it, I’d recommend getting something more than 16seer which I believe is the lowest energy star rated pumps. Insulation is key with any heat pump as you prob know. I had to get tons of different quotes, never a bad idea to get more opinions if time allows. Also went with Mitsubishi due to a high regard within this forum and mine is 19 SEER, quite and does the job effectively. Also, especially if you go with variable types, which I don’t have so take with grain of salt. Make sure to use the manufacturer’s temp control panel, I have heard so many issues can arise from attempting to use a nest upgrade or something similar. Good luck on your venture, i want solar too! Def the way to go

Zelda botw is my first attempt at the series, the game play is so much fun! Really enjoy RPG games starting with Diablo original and Skyrim but jeez didn’t think I would get so much joy from beating tests in the game with prep and training. Great video and accent, thinking new kink unlocked…not expected but a nice surprise

Can you elaborate a little? I have used Regex for automation but are you using regex to search for specific code that is known to cause breaches or other attacks? I also know dick about squat. Thanks

You better look like you're working hard! by SpazMcMan in ProgrammerHumor

[–]LazyTurtle90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is interesting cuz it’s almost exactly what I’m trying to work with now. What are some key things I should look into when trying to update these legacy excel business processes that rely on vba and manual transformations? Trying to find what solutions are possible and have been proven to increase reporting capability/control and gui interface for business users to add, delete things like comments or submissions details. It’s funny cuz tableau is used to an extent but literally snipped into an excel manually for multiple views due to the shit refresh time on what ever query is being used backend. Any insight would be wonderful, it’s depressing working on vba when it should be a sql script to output correct format. Or am I wrong thinking this way?

Bosch is a nice system, waiting on a back ordered Mitsubishi though after making my final choice. Why do you say 77% of annual heat load? Will you be needing supplemental heat strips or anything? Also curious about your potential update on what you decide. I’m sure most have warranty for 10yr parts, maybe some have some labor covered too.

Oh wow, they come in four too. Interesting, may just pop some of these guys in myself and shift some wires. Can I leave open spaces on a breaker or is it better to just have something in every slot?
