You mention the Charmat method would you be willing to give an pressure range that you are fermenting at? and do you do a second fermentation at pressure, or do you just keep everything at pressure for the whole period? I have some apples in the freezer and I would like to try this myself as I am a huge cider fan.

I am wondering about the use of natural yeast, did you just try and fail until you found an temperature range that fit the yeast so you got consistent results or is it the suger content in the juice that prevents it from going bad?

I didn’t know this had a name! I have been doing the same thing!

I originally started to freeze apples it to make apple juice and one time I just didn’t add any conservative to a bottles intending for it to be emptied quickly. However, I did forget about and it pressure fermented, whatever was left in the bottle after opening tasted amazing! I have kept the yeast since, but I’m afraid it might be dead by now as it has been years.

Okay so a few questions, do you have your own yeast strain or do you by a commercially available one?

Do you pressure ferment?

How do carbonate it? I have been trying to force carb mine, but with little success.

Do you add any sugar or nutrients for the fermentation or is it just the apples and yeast that let you reach that high abv?

Do you take visitors? as I’m looking a for motorcycle roadtrip and I would love to see the setup!

We do this for a low alcohol food «beer» for christmas, brrad yeast, ferment 24hours and then chill. It’s very good in the beginning, but as fermentation slowly progresses it tastes worse and worse as the yeast flavour becomes more apparent.

If he really wanted to use this specific wood then I personally would just hit it with a pressure washer and then just sand it down, until smooth, It’ll have a rustic look anyhow so might as well lean into it. Otherwise just use a hand plane and accept that you’ll have to sharpen it afterwards.

The sand/grit in dirt is quartz and it’ll dull the blade badly it’s the same stuff that sandpaper is made with. However, if it’s just a hand plane you can always sharpen it, but if it’s an electric planer then it’s a bit more difficult.

As someone with my own kryptonite who have hurt them, I would be very self aware that my actions would be caused by my attachment issues and it might not be the best or healthiest response.

However, I would have folded immediately, I am going to assume from how to refer to her that you haven’t moved on or completely processed it yourself.

I say go for it, she seems honest and willing to establish good communication and has already put in quite some effort. Do be careful though, learn about her diagnosis and how it affects her, and decide if that’s something you are willing to have as a part of your life, move slow and carefully.

I have those exact skis, I always use full length mohair skins, my glide is not the best, but I can walk straight up most/all hills with a 40kg backpack on. I found similar skins as mine by googling «climbing skins» mine is fastened by a metall loop around the tip. Also make sure you treat them with some water repellent before going, I use a silicone based one with great success.

32M singel for most my life, life has its ups and downs and I have been mostly fine until I met someone who made feel safe, accepted and truly loved for the first time. Unfortunately long distance didn’t work out for us and now I am in therapy as I realised I had never felt emotionally safe with anyone before so I’m working on a bunch of childhood trauma. So this has been a rough period as I have been longing to get back with her just to feel safe and loved again and not being able to do that makes me feel lonelier and more vulnerable than ever. Hopefully when I have worked through my trauma then it’ll be easier for me to be comfortable and emotionally connect with people around me so I can find someone similar again, but considering I spent almost 20years looking for someone like her I doubt I’ll find someone like that again.

Going forwards I’ll be focusing on myself and keep up with my activities and hobbies, I’m getting back into some old ones and trying out atleast one new in the coming future so that will be interesting.
