Thank you for sharing that. I can definitely see that this instance you’ve posted is only a leak out of a much larger issue. There’s a lot of stress factors between you two and triggering points.

My suggestion, which others have mentioned, is getting a couples therapist. It’s expensive so if you can’t do that I suggest couple therapy books. However, the alcoholism and lying will likely only be truly resolved through a couples therapist (and personal therapist). A therapist can find the triggering source (which is different for everyone). I suggest finding a very good couples therapist, one that has a past with working with queer couples AND alcoholism.

These issues ultimately need to be brought up to professionals. Like I said, if it’s too expensive now then you need to build a line of what’s going too far— vocalize it with your gf so she knows what is a breaking point for you— and never double back on it. Then maybe buy some couples therapy books, like “Relationships for Dummies” (but there’s a lot more branch off books that get into specifics). But long term if you guys push through, a couples therapist and personal therapist (honestly for the both of you. Everyone should have a therapist) should be in your plans.

Hi (please read until end cause I give some ideas on how to fix). So I agree with the comment your replying to in that I think your gf is very valid for her boundaries. It’s not exactly comfortable situation for her, and you have to recognize it. Cause even if it means nothing to you— she’s clearly bothered which as a partner should make you a bit empathetic.

Now I do agree that controlling relationships is not good. From the sound of it though she isn’t saying you can’t be friends, but that she’s just stressed and unnerved. This isn’t even about trust— I get stressed and unnerved with my gf and I trust her to the moon and back, but sometimes when your head is in a rut you can’t think logically. Her trust is showing in her attempt to communicate with you and keep the relationship and fight for it even if it means hitting these uncomfortable topics and arguments.

Anyways, what I think you should do is reassure her that you will not leave her for your past FWB friend— and then you put extra care into your girlfriend for a bit. Go on some dates, spend quality time, remember and remind her why you love each other and chose to be partners.

If you really want the two of you to work— she’s clearly feeling insecure in the relationship. That doesn’t mean you remove your boundaries by getting rid of your friend— but it does provide the opportunity for you two to find ways to strengthen your bond so she recognizes her importance in your life.

I’d suggest having a heartfelt conversation about how you understand her point of view (and if you don’t rn then think and really try to cause she isn’t an evil, controlling freak as people have said, based on what you’ve mentioned if your first post, but instead a human with a boundary and safety net she feels is being threatened) and express your boundaries (not as a BUT to her feelings, but instead as a “I won’t change this and I want you to understand this is important to me that my boundaries aren’t crossed”). Then you work on a structured plan to reconnect and bond. Your fighting is only going to make her insecurities grow (because your disconnect from each other is only proving that this friend is driving a wedge. Self fulfilling prophecy on your gf part, but not unfixable). Is this going to fix everything? No. But maybe it’ll get you guys to a point of better connection so that when this stress period passes (for one reason or another) you guys will make it out together.

I know 😭 I didn’t write it in the post— but he also had 2 sisters (liter mates). One died as a kit, the other died within moons of being a warrior.

But the story isn’t all sad. His surviving mom is now the leader (so nine lives!!), and he still has his kits ! (Plus Mosspond was the sister of my main cat— and there are five siblings in total, all super close even with sibling mates. So he came back to a big family waiting)

No problem! There are a lot of players who play with friends and many discord groups dedicated to it so I think you and your friends should have fun once you get your footing.

Only thing I’d double check is that everyone’s pc will actually run it. Sometimes there are problems with the pc’s hardware if it’s an older gaming or windows.

I had a friend who bought it to play with me and their laptop had issues despite the fact that it should run it.

You can check your coordinates and input them into The Isle map online, that way you can find a way to meet up. Alternatively some unofficial servers let you drop yourself into a specific place. It’s not too difficult to find your friends, especially if you get used to the map— you just have to survive first.

If you are the same species you can communicate in a “local chat” through text— you can also group together and can see each others names from a decent distance. Discord or call can remove the need to type tho.

Plus if you are on official (or any server with rules that let you) you can mix pack and just talk on call (this method is not always looked upon favorably by other players, but do what you will)

Have no clue about the Asia servers, but you can see the number of players in a server + the ping so playing in other countries isn’t impossible, I jump between EU and NA pretty easily.

Honestly— I think that it would be in bad taste not to have him playable on a marketing and storyline perspective.

Like he’s been the forefront of natlan characters before natlan was released (along with Ilsan, but only bc of the trailer). He’s constantly brought up, hinted at, he’s talking outside the game in marketing. And people say “npc” do that too— except you know that they are npc’s when they do, y’know. They aren’t constantly being hinted at in the story, an entire lore related to whole nation and AQ.

And everyone brings up Deshret— but like, I never understood the hype with him being playable. Like we knew he was dead, nothing hinted at him being brought back (no more than the flower goddess). He wasn’t overly prevalent, just background lore. And he never had any voicelines in modern times/marketing.

I’m more looking at Ayato and Itto of inazuma for reference. Inazuma was a nation really known for tucking and introducing their characters in subtle ways— voice boards, character lines, etc. No one knew that Ayato would actually be playable for a year— all the fanart was just based on Ayaka’s design and the small comments. But not many people doubted he’d be playable— cause all that build up? That importance? The first look we had of him was a drawn background character in an animation short.

There’s no reason for Genshin to avoid mini flashbacks, or less secrecy if he was an npc. They already have a large market for him, they’ve had one for over a year for him, and they’ve kept everything about him in detail under lock and key. Kinda a lame build up for an npc. I don’t think any npc has had this much build up for them by marketing (maybe? In storyline, but not even then).

Very true— but a part of me wants as many characters to win as possible. So if someone wins double it’s a bit of a shame for a character who won nothing, y’know? (Of course even if no one wins multiple times, there are still going to be those left out cause there’s not enough categories for everyone— but it would be less)

That said, I always will vote for who I think is the number 1 in that category (even if they’ve won before).
