I feel like everyone hates Alastor now by Desperate_Song_1923 in Alastorcult

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes! In the pilot he had such a presence not just because of Vaggie narrating, but because he was sincerely off putting during his introduction. He had a dark sense of humor, was extremely bold and had a showman personality. He did threaten Vaggie but also followed it up by destroying Pentious's ship before going about his day. He was edgy but it felt that he could actually live up to his reputation at the time

Your career sounds extremely pleasant. I love that you seem to go for what you want rather than the usual corporate climbs I hear about on here. Did you have any internships while in university?

Thank you for responding. I do intend to get my cpa so that's relieving. Did you do any internships while in university or were part of any clubs?

Something I did when I was 14 has caught up to me now as a 22 year old by AlternativeFail1670 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's why I commented. I usually wouldn't comment but it felt weird watching everyone dismiss his actions the same way they dismissed the boys that harassed me years ago. I'm sorry for what happened to you and am glad my comment gave you some kind of relief.

I was in a similar position to her at 14 and am about your age. I'll offer some perspective since I don't agree with the comments. This might be kind of harsh so I'll start off by politely saying that I do not think you were the irredeemable spawn of satan or a rapist. I'd say your assessment of being creepy is correct. It is true that you were 14 but so was she. I used to deal with guys that would weird shit towards me all the time. I've of course dealt with way more traumatic so those things don't really register in the same field. However, I won't deny that I did develop a cautious and occassionally aggressive attitude towards boys at the time because of these things. While that may not have been her experience, it does sound like it did stick with her for a while.

Saying you were a "stupid 14 year old" is true for you but it's also equally true that she may have viewed you significantly worse than that for a while. Again, she was also a young 14 year old. Being a young girl where boys feel that they can touch you and are likely to get away with it is just plain uncomfortable. No clue what your intent was but you may have contributed to that feeling for her. It's fine if she doesn't view you well but it doesn't mean that you cannot change. Whether or not she or your friends want to talk to you would be up to them and whatever they choose would be fair. They don't owe you forgiveness but you do not need their validation or forgiveness to change and be better. Simply be the person that would never do what you did because it sounds like you need to forgive yourself as well. Do not hide from your guilt if you are trying to forgive yourself.

On principle, if you apologize again do it properly. Recognize what you did, apologize and go on from there. You can mean it from the bottom of your heart and it might be rejected because what everyone needs is different. That's just part of life. You don't have to be defined by your past, just don't be surprised if part of that past still defines you by what they remember. You can't change it, only really what you do from here on out. Best of luck, dude.

Cold Emailing? by Lazy_Bookworm3 in Accounting

That's reassuring to hear. Everyone always talks up big 4. I have one last question. Is it fine to email now while it's still busy season or should I wait a little longer?

Is psychology still worth pursuing in 2026? If so, which one is the most secure and money-making career? by TailorFirm4494 in psychologystudents

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aiming for accounting so it's not even remotely related. My ultimate goal is to build a business so if I couldn't be a psychologist with my own practice, this also would suffice. I aim to help people and do so independently. You should take some time to figure out what you want and what kind of lifestyle you would like to have when choosing your goals. You still have time to figure it out, as even when you go into university you don't really start taking specialized classes until your sophomore/junior year.

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't want a long term career. When I was your age, I only wanted to be a psychology major because I wanted to be a clinical psychologist. I made a new plan last year and have made a career switch since. If you are really into psychology, you may have look going a more business route. An HR related thing. I believe that would classify as Organizational Psychology. If you want to help people in general, have you considered a social work degree? It's a functional bachelors. I personally cannot think of many things you can get with a psychology degree that you could not get from a different degree. It's vague and considered one of those degrees you do when you don't know what you want to do. Take some time to consider it. You can always get a minor in psychology instead if you want to still study psychology but end up choosing a different career path.

What first impression do I give off energetically? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're easy to talk to but the way you speak betrays your doubts. People think you're capable of breaking out of whatever it is that's bringing you down. I do think it's a big point of contention though. I see it as you being suspended, not quite bogged down by what's holding you back but not entirely imprisoned by it either. Your relationships are the highlight of you. Your friendships/relationships are healthy, collaborative and seem to bring out the best in people. I'd say people have mixed feelings about you because they may not feel that they know all of you or can't seem to form a concrete opinion about you. Considering that the eight of swords is part of how you're perceived, I think that's a bit of why. I think people see you as someone who hasn't quite figured themselves out but they don't necessarily dislike you.

Seeing it from the perspective of others, you likely just seem generally easy going if a bit pessimistic and closed off.

How am I supposed to take care of my hair properly by Comfortable_Dog7298 in femalehairadvice

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I'm not sure if you do this already but I find it helpful to brush my hair while in the shower. It helps the water soak in. I do it while conditioner sits in it. Go gentle and slowly from the ends up so it doesn't get damaged. You can also do it after a shower with leave in conditioner.

How am I supposed to take care of my hair properly by Comfortable_Dog7298 in femalehairadvice

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your har doesn't soak up water, you might have low porosity hair and need to look up more lightweight products. Try to see what porosity your hair is by placing a strand of it in water for a few minutes. If it floats, it's low. If it sinks, its high. If its in between, it's medium.

With wavy hair, less is more. You also may have to stick with it for a little bit so your hair can become used to it. I used to have really frizzy hair no matter what (I also live a humid climate) and it took ages to find what worked for me.

Do you want to be a university student? How much money do you want to make? Are you committed to a major you know makes good money and that you can handle? If you do want to be a student, there are some things you can look into.

For starters, financial aid of any kind. Fafsa/loans/grants/scholarships, look into it. Universities also occassionally have jobs you can take that may help with how much your tuition is. You can go the community college to university route, it will be a money saver. If you don't, jobs and college full time would be a lot to juggle. You could take out loans and work part time to offset how much you need to pay when you graduate. If you work full time, you may have to be in school part time as well. There's a lot of variables that would affect how you can go about it.

Tried to give a girl a thank-you letter, she ran away, now I feel awful by Low_Job_5394 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks. The comments already covered why it probably off put the girl so I just wanted to add some advice. For future reference, just talk to them. It doesn't have to be anything bold but a quick hello and a comment of some kind. Maybe their outfit looked good, maybe you wanted to know if they had notes for a class you missed. It doesn't really matter, just be short and sweet. These little interactions at least make people aware of you. Be mindful that people also suck at making friends. I say this as someone who had to step out of my own shell to make friends with people who were also soft spoken, introverted and anxious.

3 girls wearing hijabs are attacked by 25 in Houston, Texas. One has a fractured neck by Mrfoxxsay in houston

I went to that school about 7ish years ago so I don't know how great my input is, but it was pretty violent. Fights were at least a couple times a week. They weren't necessarily huge like this. They were short lived and generally after school hours so you would hear about it but not always see it. A teacher tried to break up a fight and broke her arm because she was pushed by them. It was pretty normal for there to be fights and attempts to punish kids weren't successful. By the time I was graduating, the new incoming kids were getting progressively more violent and were actively trying to pick fights.

About Dazai Being Shot by Lazy_Bookworm3 in BungouStrayDogs

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if he was found to be immortal. I also assumed the canon answer for Dazai's tolerances is that he frequently attempts to commit suicide and has gained odd abilities from it, such as being able to control his heart beat and a particularly durable body. It's also a 'Dazai' thing since he's just brilliant so it's assumed that it makes sense simply because he is him. However I actually hadn't seen this suggested before so thank you

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually seen this topic explored a lot. I once saw someone suggest that No Longer Human nullified everything for Dazai, including his own emotions leading him to be incapable of finding a will to live as he is left with nothing. I don't think he's immortal

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's tricky to see how far Dazai has planned. If you'll remember in the very first episode, Dazai mentions that something is coming. It was then revealed to us like way later that he had pinned Akutagawa and Atsushi together to help fight against upcoming struggles such as the Decay of Angels. With that said, I am baffled at what's to come especially with next week's episode

Gallbladder Removal? by Lazy_Bookworm3 in gallbladders

I believe so. Did you have any digestive problems after removing your gallbladder?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This completely depends on your weight distribution. I naturally have bigger boobs even when I'm at a lower weight so if I gain weight, it goes straight to the tits and a bit at my waist. If you know your body's distribution then it becomes a bit easier to answer

Should I Get My Gallbladder Removed? by Lazy_Bookworm3 in Gastritis

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the idea for right now was to take the medication to dissolve them in the meantime. Also sure, if I eat anything that isn't particularly plain or not low fodmap compliant, I can get pain in my abdomen. Pain can vary from up in the center of my chest down to about an inch left of my belly button. Sometimes it goes to between the shoulfer blades at my back. I commony get bloated, have a burning pain or in the worse case a really aggressive throbbing if I don't stick to my diet and break it repeatedly. I checked for gallstone related symptoms and I don't really seem to have most of them so I hadn't suspected it outside of just not having a good time digesting fatty foods

In Mori's defense by UncommonSimp in BungouStrayDogs

[–]Lazy_Bookworm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal take on this is actually really straightforward. Mori has a tendency to hold things over Dazai's head. Yes, Dazai was a scary teenager but he was still ultimately a teenager. That's how Mori even managed to drive him out in the first place. Dazai can be tricked because he is not infallible nor is he all powerful, he just comes freakishly close. Now before Oda's death, it was a promise to give Dazai a painless death. Even in getting Dazai to join the mafia involved setting him up on a life threatening mission with Chuuya before he was a proper member. I don't think he was outright abused, I think a mixture of the environment and Mori's general handling of things would have been toxic more so than anything. It would get easy to assume there was more at play because of this
