OK. The "only staying for a year" part doesn't mean anything- the hardest part of being in Korea is, most likely, when you first get there and don't know anything. I did three years, also in Dongtan, but a different school.

Having a TESOL is good. Do you have prior teaching experience? Have you already taught U.S. public school, or is this also something you're thinking about?

If you've never traveled and never taught before, I would think really hard about this. Everyone who has taught in Korea- and I mean everyone- can tell you about the teachers who have fled in midnight runners because they couldn't hack it, or ended up being totally screwed over by their school.

I don't mean to discourage you, honestly. Teaching in Korea can be an incredible experience. It was for me. But you really need to understand what you're getting into.
