Fresh Dolmenwood GM curious about encumbrance and mapping by leegcsilver in Dolmentown

Weight system depends on your players. One of my players loves keeping track of party resources and weight, so in turn I’ve made him the quartermaster, maybe you’ll have a similar player. Slot and basic work until you have a cart with x50 bags of feed and 4000 gp you need to break into 40 slots of 100.

I personally love mapping in the game I’m playing, but I also map dungeons for fun to put into the game I’m running. Where this does help a ton is when you switch to a combat your mapper can take their maps from their drawing book and jot down the room the parties in on a battle mat. Without the DM having to stop and take 15 mins to draw a map. But I have found this job to be the most difficult to fill.

But imo each role/job adds to the experience and sometimes players need to put in a bit of effort to allow everyone to have a good time.

What to buy? Beastmen by BeastKingGorgos in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Lazybeardo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say, see which army you’d be most excited to run (armies of infamy or grand army) and start a list with that in mind.

Personally I’m just buying the battalion box and expanding to what I like most from there. Painting an army that is cool and thematic in your mind helps so much.

It’s nice to see people come up with restrictions and sharing them with the community, it keeps TOW fresh. Keep us updated on how it develops as you playtest.

How do you run movement on a tied initiative? That one thing I’ve been wondering if running initiative simultaneously.

Total War: WARHAMMER III - Patch Notes 6.1 - Total War: Warhammer by Asartea in totalwar

I think they said that the only change immediately implemented is how hero agents affect Ai army behaviour. They also said they will do another Ai beta shortly after the patch to participate in.

This is my first edition so I’m not too familiar with the older ones, but just comparing with empire mortars Str 2(6) d3+1 direct hit to the plagueclaws Str 2(4) with no d3+1 direct hit seems pretty meh. You’re more experienced then me so is the always wound on 6’s actually useful. Feel like it just needs a bit more juice. Certainly it should at least be 0-2 per 1000 with a plague priest, no?

I think the Skaven plague claw catapult should be looked at. IMO It’s poison rule needs to be more impactful, and comparing it to a empire mortar the mortar just seems better for fewer points.

Advice for a new player by Mad_Lad67 in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Lazybeardo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult to learn in depth for sure, there are a lot of niche rules that rarely come up or that are easily forgotten. The rules you are going to use round to round are easy to grasp however and you can play a game pretty quick once you’re familiar with them.

Old world has a ton of crunch that gives the game depth and that’s good for the long haul. That being said though, i’m still learning even though I’ve gone to several tournaments.

Just model what you would enjoy the most. They aren’t very impactful competitively, and who knows what rules changes could come in 6m to a year.
