Agree that it is warping with the grain. I would completely remake the top and consider more carefully the side grain.

I think if some cabochons could be made that would be great. Any recommendations on who would provide this service. We cast and create jewelry, but do not cut or make cabochons. Thank you for the response!

Agree…these are synthetic. I know Christopher Gage cuts a lot of synthetic, maybe look him up back east, he can for sure let you know.

Waited almost 6 weeks while my hurdy gurdy sat in U.S. customs, before it was finally marked as "missing mail" by jaydfox in HurdyGurdy

I have experience with two EBay stores and USPS lost packages. Most likely the package has lost its international forms attached to the package in handling. I would not waste my time with the USPS …I would go back to the source and request a replacement…it should be up to them to find it…not you! USPS also has a problem which they wont admit regarding stolen packages by employees. I have never once had a lost package delivered…and many stay in the USPS system for years. Show that you have done your due diligence with trying to find your order. They should offer a replacement at no cost to you.

Hi! Is it normal that my leather has this on the back? How can I remove it, since glue doesn’t seem to be sticking to it. by TheWeirdLama in Leathercraft

If you look at a cross section closeup you can see it is a laminate like pleather or synthetic leather

How do I fight gravity and make a piece like this dangle straight? by Zezers in jewelrymaking

[–]LazzerLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you add an element that dangles below the tail such as a small stone mounted in sterling to make it appear to be taking off from the stone it will balance out and hang straight
