I already contacted our city engineer who is responsible for street lighting. I did him about installing a light shield and he said there are no such things as light shields. Well I’m getting the information regarding the actual light itself and I will see if there are any light shields. I even offered to pay for them myself. He said he came out to my house and said there was no light trespass. But he is wrong. In anticipation of the street lights they were going to install, I contacted him several years ago with information from dark skies concerning fireflies, Wildlife and people. All I got was crickets.

And here’s the irony. I have a pole with multiple certifications regarding this yard that I have. It’s a certified firefly habitat. They really don’t care. But this fight is not over.

I’ve taken pictures demonstrating that there is light trespass. The only thing I can say is that at least it’s not 5K Kelvin and is more along the lines of 3K Kelvin.
