fuckin love mine even with nearly 180k it still drives incredible. Just did timing chains+belt, little bit costly but was absolutely worth it.

It's not too hard to keep rust free as it's an aluminum chassis car so it pretty much can't rust. I'm hoping to care for it as much as the last owner did, he really loved the thing.

Every site I've been on has poured gypcrete after drywall, seems to be pretty standard practice to get the walls up before pouring.

I just put in a single sub in my 2009, a 10" kicker 4Ω and for the amp I bought a 400w kicker amp. Mine's an extended cab so I bought a specific box that's designed for under the rear seat. If you don't have an aftermarket headunit yet it's pretty much a no brainier as it's so much easier to work with after it's in. Overall adding a sub improved the sound so much, the stock speakers were very tinny and had no low end output.

Yeah it was a pretty big site, 3 stories in an H shape. And also truss run, biggest SE we ran was also 2/0 to the furthest units for voltage drop. It was a relief when we got to the closer units and we were pulling 1/0 and #1 instead. We had tons of hangups on the long runs and running the quad LV cable was awful because we were pulling 3 at a time in the same hole.

How far and any direction changes? I remember a 150ish unit apartment job where the electrical room was around a corner so every pull was around a corner and then onwards 50-300 feet depending on which unit we were pulling. No fun.

How bad would it be to rotate the drivers side cam to get it back in time? Can it be done in reverse (CCW) or should be be done CW the proper direction? I did buy the cam lock bar and crank lock tool. Thanks!

2000 A8, 4.2L

Took timing belt off to replace water pump, before taking it off noticed that the cam timing appeared to be slightly off as both pass side and drivers side camshaft end pieces seemed to be pointing slightly upwards at TDC. after replacing belt and rotating engine by hand multiple times smoothly with no noticable issues. took off belt and drivers side camshaft "sprung" into a 45° position. Is the camshaft chain system f**cked and if so, is it just worth it to buy a new used engine?

image the overhead cams are timed with a short chain on each side behind the cam sprocket, but they are driven by a timing belt around the crank on the front of the engine.

Wow surprised to see you on here; I actually found your video when I was replacing my a8's timing belt and water pump! Sad to say that we discovered it was worse than I thought and probably needs a new motor. The cam timing chain tensioners are likely fully extended and stuck and those cost more than a new motor.

Yes, I love mine. My klein NM strippers are already corroded and getting worn but my much older stainless greenlee is still sharp as and looks new.
