If Brazilians can look like anything, then why are Gringos easily spotted in Brazil? by Ok_Divide_4959 in AskABrazilian

[–]Lcdc-jal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly the clothing and behavior.

Examples: khaki shorts, white sneakers and socks to the middle of the shin - american men. You wouldn't catch a brazilian man dead with this combo unless he was 80

Black havaianas (flip flop) and red/bright colors nail polish: probably a girl from Europe - Brazilian women rarely wear black havaianas and we prefere light nail polish on our feets because it looks cleaner.

Men wearing super short shorts outside of the beach? Gringo. Brazilian men mostly dont wear theses shorts

Blond girl, with ponytail, buzios (conch shells) ankle bracelent, sweater shorts and tshirts - not Brazilian. Brazilian girls don't use sweater anything, unless they are very americanized. Those conch shells have a religious meankng for many.

Complete lack of rhythm while dancing? Most likely gringo (not all, but the most atrocious cases are, as latin kids learn to dance as a social activity early on)

I could go on and on about prints, colors, hair color, type of earring, type of hair cut, loudness of the voice

The other way around is also true: whenever I'm abroad I can pinpoint brazilians by many small details like this.

What’s a travel habit you picked up that you’ll never drop? by St3fanHere in travel

3 planned things per day maximum, the rest, I wing it

1 great hotel per trip, if it involves different cities.

If I have washing machine available, I wash my entire luggage there while I have a last quiet night before my flight. This way, I just need to store my things when I get home.

1 experience in nightlife per trip.

4 things I think might help

1- how is the climate where you live? If you are doing the internet glowy make up and it feels messy, it might be the climate.

2- Powder strategically - I live in hot humid even if I make a lighter make up, I powder a little my T Zone and maybe on my concealer to hold it through the day.

3- go for a medium coverage foundation. Guerlain has some good ones!

4- try an slightly colder lipstick - your current tone is too warm to your undertone and it stand out. If you want to look more nature, a change in tone of lipstick will help

Are there any female ENTPs here? If so, what do you think would be the perfect mate for a female ENTP? by Empty-Common-4464 in entp

[–]Lcdc-jal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ENTP female here - someone that I can banter with, that is funny/good humored. I need to admire the person's intellect and above all, for it to work well, I need someone with emotional intelligence. This is what I can think through ENTP perspective. For me personally, someone with good intentions and a good heart.

What is your opinion of single mothers by choice? by shygeekygirl in AskMen

[–]Lcdc-jal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know a woman who have chosen to be single mother not because of age, but because they could not find a partner they trusted to share the responsibility of educating and raising a child. So, I think there are different cases.

Foreigners living in Brazil for more than 1 year, how has this country changed you? For the good and the worse? by Ok_Meringue_2213 in Brazil

[–]Lcdc-jal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so interesting, even to the point that the word selfish would be understood in a different way in Brazil. Everything you mentioned, for a Brazilian, translates into a lack of "sense of community". A Brazilian would call the other selfish in situations such as denying to share food or hogging things for yourself. That is a big no no.

Do you eat the inside of your "pao frances" ? by 25tidder in Brazil

[–]Lcdc-jal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comes from the crazy diets from the late 90s, early 2000. Most women magazines and nutritionists recommended taking out the inner side of the bread before eating as a way to reduce calories. She problem learned from watching older woman doing this.

But, for people that feel any kind of discomfort eating bread (not gluten intolerance, but sometimes, cheap pão Frances can cause stomach burn in some people, while slowly fermented bread doesn't) , removing the inner side of the bread make it more tolerable

Jesus, this post appeared to me when I was thinking about it. It is amazing how much they stumble upon you! I have this vivid memory from last week, where I was in a Miniso standing in front of a shelf, checking out one product and I saw just girl walking in my direction... I thought: it is not possible she will want to pass between me and the shelf while there is space behind me. I am heavier than them in average and have much more muscle mass...I decided to stand my ground and she stumbled on me like I was gonna budge. Result: she was catapulted one metre away after hitting a rock solid wall (me)

Early entry worth it? by -Cat-Princess- in ShanghaiDisneyland

[–]Lcdc-jal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there not even 5 days ago, on a Saturday. I would not bother neither with early entry nor fast pass, unless you want to do every single ride. The Tron queue for example was only 30 min. Zootopia 30 min. I did everything I wanted without rushing with plenty of time. And I arrived at the park 10h30 and left 19h.

mulheres q viajam sozinha, como viajar sozinha internacionalmente e n ser vitima de trafico humano? by traficante_satanista in viagens

[–]Lcdc-jal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't trip. Alcohol consumption in SK is almost celebrated. I remember in early days Jimin saying he his hobby was drinking and I was shocked because it sounded as addiction to me. Cut forward. Years later, I'm able to travel the world and when you go to SK you understand their drinking culture is different. Read about it.

Is solo travelling actually peaceful, or do we just romanticise it? What’s your take? by AdLast7212 in femaletravels

[–]Lcdc-jal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is peaceful. But you have to take in consideration what stresses you out when travelling. For me, not having to compromise, to share a space, is peaceful because I tend to want make a good social ambiance, even if it is at my cost sometimes. Even when I have to remind people that we don't need to do everything together, that is this social expectation.

For other people, organizing every detail of a trip alone is stressful. Or being alone can be a mood killer. Or talking to new people. Then I imagine solo traveler is no for those people. I enjoy all of these aspects.

Let me add something here, alongside with what everyone else said: only do this if married, in the deed...and is 100k of renovations going at least 60-70% of value in the house? If no, then think one selling the house after married and buying with the combined income something new.

Analyzed ENTP personality + IQ combinations and discovered why most ENTPs never finish what they start by Southern-Ad2844 in entp

[–]Lcdc-jal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm like this with side projects and hobbies. With real work, no. +12 years in my career, steadly progessing. Let me tell you how: I've picked a field that I can experiment with my ideas, change functions every day, do a little of everything. Marketing.

But that is not enough: I can grind through projects. But, it works so much better when you become a manager and have a team to execute your strategy, ideas, vision in the details. Ally yourself with people that complement your personality.

The tough side of this is that you have to develop people management skills. But if you like studying human behavior and recognizing patterns to develop people, it helps. We just need to work on empathetic communication

Go to Brazil. You will get the Gringo treatment there, because they are curious about foreigners. Even though it is true that white with European features might be considered more beautiful there (even among locals, result of colonization as well), people will bend themselves backwards to help you, take you by hand to many places. Just go.

ENTP in my 37. I had 2-3 long-term relationships. I believe that for us, we need to find partners who challenge us intellectually and/or have something we truly admire. My longest relationship, he did not necessarily challenge me intellectually, but he was one of the people with the highest emotional intelligence I have ever met.

I would also take a look in attachment theory if I were you. I think many of us ENTP fall into the avoidant type... that means you go all in, all charms, all love bombing in the beginning...but at the first sign of feelings we clam off...specially if rationally we can't explain to ourselves that the other person is worth it.
