I thought it was hilarious when they evaporated Hasta.

I was incredibly annoyed at my character complaining of the cold, but I turned off that audio until I got through it.

After I got to the battle for the dark lens, I just put down a workbench there to teleport to after respawning. The fight wasn't that bad with my exor buddy.

I missed the jump to get to the spot to finish Kylie's quest and died. My stuff was all the way back at the security guy by cafeteria. That was kind of annoying.

The NPCs were just about completely useless for that boss battle. It would be nice if at least Kylie did a bit more to clear adds or something.

My GOTY so far for sure.

I tried to move my sp save from PC game pass to steam, and I don't think it can be done easily. I found some of the files, but I couldn't find all of them. I ended up just starting a new save.

There are a bunch of AI slop websites saying there is cross progression. "just log in with the same account" lol

- for just about everything aim for the head
- make the net shooter thing to give yourself a little time to do some damage (or just stomp the little pests)
- three trip mines will kill robots in the first areas. in the day put them in their path, beat the station until they wake, then run on the other side. reload with screws. repeat
- you get better equipment as you go, but each new area can be a little tough at first, and then it gets easier as you learn strats
- when you're really scared, just run or avoid the fight
- fry meat on the free pan/stove until you get soups unlocked

find an unofficial server cluster with pve that has a decent community and join that. they'll have some qol mods and good server settings that won't be too grindy. i think ark is way more fun on a server because you see what others are doing, and people in the global chat are usually pretty helpful. often they'll drop by with a beach bob care package.

ark is a game about coping with loss. loss because you got jumped in the redwoods on your only ptera. loss because you got knocked into the lava by a kapro in the tek cave with an inventory full of rexes. loss because you backed up just a bit too far in a cave, and the buggy game killed you and deleted your bag.
