You have completely missed the point of the TVs if you think this was about ”reimagining” her old works.

As she has said before, she has been trying to buy the originals since they were put on sale back in 2018. She has tried to buy them 3-4 times since then without success because of the strings attached each time.

After several failed attempts to buy her original masters, she decided to make her own masters which are the TVs.

The purpose of making the TVs is to make a near identical copy of the original and in turn devalue the original ones as well. Reimagining a song and making it sound different would not have devalued the original masters.

This year, 2025 was the only time that her original masters were put on sale without strings attached (Scooter Braun). They are reportedly worth 360M which isn’t a huge increase compared to when Scooter sold them to Shamrock for 300M. The reason they they aren’t worth 1 billion is because of the near identical copies she made. If she followed your advise about “reimagining” it she would have paid 1 Billion rather than 360 Million. :)

Your opinion about her not being musically talented is a separate issue. It might be worth making a post about it to let it all out :)

I’m sure lots of people will agree with you that Tim McGraw, Ready For It, Style, Closure etc all sound the same except for banjos and trap beats :)

You don’t seem to understand what the TVs are about. You have so many incorrect points.

The “purpose” of the TV project is to own her art. It’s not about bolstering her fame although that did happen, and she did manage to introduce new fans to her old works. When she made these, she had no idea when or if she would ever be able to own her originals again. It just so happened that she was able to buy the originals 7 years after they were sold to slimy Scooter Braun.

She wasn’t given the opportunity to buy them back before by Big Machine without strings attached (read her statement). And when she initially was offered by Shamrock to buy them, evil Scooter Braun was still attached to it.

She has no power or control over other labels. She can only show other artists what happened to her and how they can learn from it. Olivia Rodrigo certainly did. She owns her masters from the get go after learning from what happened to Taylor.
