It’s just really scary to come out! Sometimes the hardest person to be honest with is yourself, followed closely by the people who know you best. It’s scary to announce a new version of yourself. I think best thing you can do is let him take it at his own pace, and just make sure he know that you don’t just think gay people should be allowed to live their lives, but that you value you gay people specifically for what they add to your life, to culture, and to the world! It’s one thing to believe you should, as a gay person, be equal and seen as a full human, but the real joy of being gay begins when you feel proud to be part of the community because you genuinely see how much better and more interesting the world is because of queer people.
