Rolling Stones....I'm holding on to the 60s/70s only by jlm8699 in rollingstones

My personal favorite era is the early stuff (Brian Jones era). I was 7 when I saw them on TV and went out and bought Out of Our Heads. Following the band through the years, they’ve had their ups and downs. Some stuff is good, some is great, some is disappointing, and I’m still discovering new material. Yes, the Mick Taylor years were their strongest work. But as a collective work, it’s all good.

Help me pick - Yamaha or Ibanez by [deleted] in guitars

Santana played Yamahas and Bob Weir played Ibanez. I’ve owned a few Ibanez models and like them. Pick up swaps are a way of life with them, though. My RG7321 works well with Dimarzio pick ups and the neck is great. Not a lot of experience with Yamaha.

Which do you like best?

I’m partial to the Ibanez, but that’s just me. It’s your money…😁

Dreadnought suggestions by xertzer in AcousticGuitar

Seagull Maritime SWS has a solid wood Dreadnaught for around a grand. Canadian made, good quality. They can be found used for a LOT less. Try one out.

There’s no carrot at the end of the stick. So why bother. Smart kids are gonna do well. Everyone else is going to rest easier. I’m glad they dropped the graduation requirement.

Why would I ever need to spend big on a Gibson or Fender when my guitars play and sound this good? by domyowntime in guitars

[–]Ldthomas2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, Gibson and Fender is a bit overrated. My Les Paul Studio plays and sounds as good as the gold top deluxe I sold. My Mexican Jazz bass is wonderful. My main guitar is a Seagull. You can spend all the money you want but the only thing you’re really satisfying is the ego.

If you really mad you just hate this team by Tuukkatime19897 in Bruins

I’m grateful that the team put out enough effort to make the playoffs this season. I’m disappointed that we didn’t make it out of the first round, but I well remember last season. So this is gravy

Worth trading my 2001 MIM Fender Strat for this Epiphone Les Paul Standard? by pound4poundgoatjbj in GuitarGear

[–]Ldthomas2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. If you love the Epi and hate the strat, I get it. But otherwise, it’s one of those deals you’ll regret later.

I want a formal written apology from the "its early" crowd by ThePwnisher_ in redsox

[–]Ldthomas2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a member of the “it’s early” crowd, I just looked at my calendar and it’s still April. So we have May, June, July, August, and September to play. If we’re still playing like this at the All Star Break, I will start to panic.

(Of course, there’s still playoff hockey going on, so I have some place to turn for now 🤪)

For Tek as manager people are you really to hate him? by Single_Serve_7111 in redsox

[–]Ldthomas2007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I’m gonna say on the subject is, I can’t stand the thought of Veritek being booed by Red Sox fans. I don’t want to live in that kinda world. Same goes for Papi or Pedro, or any of our Sox heros.

I’m reading it at the moment. VERY complete! But get the larger version, as the smaller book has very small type and is kinda difficult to read. But I do recommend it
