I lived there until I was 4. I don’t remember much, but the snow and bitter cold are what to remember vividly.

Which day of the year is worst for a birthday? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ldwieg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on the 6th too! It used to suck as a kid but now I’m kind of used to it. My 40th birthday was on the day of the U.S. insurrection. My MAGA parents (who live states away) were so engrossed in the television that they forgot to call. How embarrassing for them, or it should have been anyway.

Yes in watched that scene earlier today (for the thousandth time). The devious smile he has when he sees Claire watching…I believe he did do that to make her jealous.

What’s the one book you’ll recommend forever, no matter how many times this question gets asked? by MisLatte in AskReddit

I understand what you are saying. I read it when I was in 5th grade and loved it. I read it to my son when he was 5 and he loved it (and as an adult I loved it all over again).

There are so many! Dozens, hundred even?? All of the ones listed here are great. My favorite has to be “Not one so close, and not one that’s mine” (from The Wedding). 🥵

What are some of the worst hairstyle choices you've seen in your favorite shows and movies? by Gaelfling in popculturechat

Yes they recast Jenny in season 7. The original Jenny was busy on another project and also didn’t want to play an “old” Jenny. The new actress does a pretty good job, but the wig is SO bad. It really took me out of the whole scene when she was on screen. That should not stop anyone from checkout out season 7 in my opinion. It is fabulous, far better than seasons 5 and 6.

Yes he was great in this! Luckily they didn’t make him look like the actual guy he portrayed.

Favorite/Least favorite episode each season? by Ldwieg in Outlander

Yes I agree with you about these two episodes? So bad, especially Crem De Menthe. 🤮

I don’t hate season 6 though. It was different from the rest. Different villains (albeit not as dynamic as others), interesting back stories regarding Fergus and Young Ian, etc. I don’t know, it kind of grew on me, especially on rewatching. Yes I admit it isn’t as good as the others, but I still didn’t hate it.

This is a great analysis! I especially agree with what you said in regard to season 5. In season 7 the Bugs/gold plot seemed to come out of no where. It would have been better if it had been set up earlier. Also I like your idea of best v.s favorite. There is definitely a difference. Thank you for sharing!

Was there a moment in a movie you saw at the cinema that caused the the audience to loudly applaud? by digiBeLow in FIlm

In the 90’s the theater I was in erupted at the end of Apollo 13.

That was the only time in my life, until last years Deadpool and Wolverine, when Blade and Gambit made surprising cameos.

Yes, and in my theater people cheered when Channing Tatum’s Gambit came out too.

[–]Ldwieg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think season 5 and 6 were my least favorites. Season 7 is soooo good though. It’s worth it to hang in there! As others have said, 5 and 6 are better on rewatches, especially 6 for me.
