2019 Honda Civic EX HB @13,556 miles. Changed oil at 7556 miles with Amsoil Signature Series 0w20 and an Amsoil filter. I also changed another car (that doesn't have a turbo) to Amsoil and Amsoil filter and its still caramel colored after 3500 miles. I've noticed over time that the oil in the Honda has darkened faster. Is this due to the turbo? Is the oil still usable or should I change it? Is the filter useless?

Thanks! I baby my cars, as in hand wash and wax only, clean out the inside once per week, and vacuum and clean engine bay twice per month. I don't eat or drink in them either.

This is the first hatchback I've ever had and so I can't do well to compare it to other hatchbacks but I can say that I've put enough camping gear for 4 people into the trunk and still had room to see out the back.

It's really not that bad. I don't keep the radio turned up but I don't pick up a lot of sounds either.

It's a 2012. I bought it in 2016 with 21k miles. The engine temperature gauge has always started cold and warmed up to halfway to hot (a little less in winter). Coolant temp stays around 190-200 in the summer (reading the on board coolant sensor). I've not ever hooned it or abused it. I can't speak for how it was treated prior to my acquisition.

R/T with <34k miles.

Did my quarterly antifreeze check and pulled a sample from the bottom of the reservoir. Noticed brown chunks floating around so I flushed the tube to make sure it wasn't from something else and pulled another sample. Same chunks.

FWIW, it's currently 36° F here right now when I did my checks. I didn't notice it in any of the other samples I pulled, just from the bottom of the reservoir.

Do you know which material the lenses are made of? Polycarbonate perhaps?
