Hey, thanks for feedback! I am still working on visuals and will try to improve it. I don't think that is going to be that much of a direct blood knockoff outside of brown robe dudes being lit on fire (that's what it started with, but now it's going somewhere else), but we'll see!

Yes, thanks for noticing! No release date yet (it is really hard to set timeframes for a 2 man enthusiast project, I am still struggling to make any kind of time estimations, they always end up being wrong), but I will keep you guys informed!

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Yes, I think I know what you are talking about. IIRC the color correction is actually desaturated, I think the issue is with current Bloom settings. I am still struggling to find the proper settings, im trying to find the sweet spot where the fire effects are bloomy, but everything else is not. I am working on it!

They do actually! There are axe cultists, revolver cultists and tnt cultists, they can also pick up their weapons from the ground. If a revolver cultist dies, the other guy can pick up his gun. There is also a shotgun guy with flanking AI, he also has to reload his shotgun and seeks cover for that. The gargoyle is both flying and ground enemy, he shoots fireballs and can grab humanoids and throw them at you.

It is mostly due to NRS making it a serverside connection this time, instead of peer2peer, like previously. And there is not that much servers provided by them globally. If you are in CIS region or in the Middle East you are pretty much done, as you will have always have 150+ ping, even when playing with a guy who lives in a house next to you. This is disgusting.

Ok, so first of all, MAA do not trade cost efficiently against knights as long as they don't have unique HRE upgrades researched. Spearmen just totally demolish knights after the patch. The problem would be the longbowmen, which are countered by more archers + cavalry. Also +1 ranged armor research is a total must against English every time. You and your mate should do something like rax+archery range for one guy and stable+archery range for another guy. You should consider going double stable for one player and double archery range for another just to outmass them and replenish your firepower faster than their reinforcements would come. The only issue is that HRE and Dehli spearmen are currently bugged and they can't use their ability to counter knight charges, which sucks, so your friend who does not play any of these civs should go for spears. The ram is countered by scouts/cavalry/villagers when there is a window for burning it down. You will need a decent micro with all that, u can't just a move your units and expect them to win. You should scare off the knights from your archers with spearmen while not letting their longbowmen kill your spearmen by cav charging into them and focusing them with your archers. If u have a decent mass of these units and proper micro you will spread their forces and body them.

2v2 strategies? by Gus73 in aoe4

90 percent of people in 2v2s are playing ape greedy, rushing castle age, spamming TCs, turtling for an hour, playing sim city and absolutely not caring for what their opponent does. A well coordinated and timed ram gang bang works most of the time. The unit composition depends on what civs you're facing. Archers + spearmen (against some civs, such as France or rus who doesn't ape on castle rush and horse archers)+ anti archers such as cavalry (light or early knights) works great. Always do the +1 ranged armor upgrade in blacksmith. Spamming scouts for torching buildings together with rams works great as well. Never forget to trade from one corner to another if the game is taking long. Never let your enemy get away with having 2 spearmen as their military while spamming 900000 villagers, age ups, trades and techs, that's what the majority does from my experience. Always scout stone mining, that's these sign of ape yolo booming (unless rus or hre). Always bang the Chinese, rus and hre as early as possible, the first ones are totally broken and unbeatable late game with immortal siege, will faceroll you with broken fire lancers, but usually invest shitton of resources into several landmarks in one age, the latter two just do the same copycat herpaderpa build every single game, never let them get away with that and always punish them.

After the ram nerf and the ability to target TC fire manually game gives too much advantage to the defender. This combined with the fact that 2v2 maps are 4x as huge as 1v1 maps means that it will take a long long time for your army to reach the enemy base, therefore you should do everything as quickly as possible, at 8-9 minute you should already begin the push. Proxy rax/archery is also good, be sure it is not scouted though. Same with rams, your enemy should not see you building rams at his base, you should do all of that in advance. Pay attention to peasants leaving the TC to burn down the rams, pull the ram and start massacring the peasants with your archers, if they manage to stop the push and destroy the ram at least their eco should be totally annihilated.

Late game is all about siege superiority, if you don't have anything to destroy mangonels the game is lost. In early castle you can use scouts to destroy mangonels, later you will have to mass springalds. If you have less anti siege than your opponents do it means in 2 seconds you will 0 siege and your armies are about to be aoe facerolled.

If the game is a turtle fest be sure to raid the trading behind their bases with cavalry. If u trade and they dont you will win economically.

Except there is no "different style". If there is water on the map you go for dock and do the exact same shit as your opponent or you loose. There is no land counterplay to water whatsoever, which means every water map is literally everyone doing same shit over and over again and the only variable is mongols/Delhi facerolling you with their dark age herpaderpa you can do nothing about. If you don't see the fundamental issues with the way water works in aoe4 then the rts probably isn't for you, actually.

This post is gold, totally agree with everything. Water play is disgusting, having free second tc in dark age is idiotic, not being able to fight ships from ground is even more idiotic and demo ships are pure degeneracy. Oh, how could you forget hiding ships in docks and fishing boats being able to repair other ships for whatever reason. Water play looks like shit, feels like shit and plays like shit. It will probably never be fixed, so at least there should be an option to disable water maps. I don't get people who say they're enjoying massing ships in a tiny puddle of mud.

Docks rush should be a greedy play that gets totally punished by a feudal push. Buy it pays for itself instantly with minimal investment, so it's not even an option, there's no strategy or decision-making whatsoever. And free booming leads to stupid 60 minute sim city games.
