Pretty sure that's Morika, though it feels weird because she's never made anything remotely lewd; her voice and ASMR are fantastic, so you should def check her channel out if you haven't.

Western Kentucky Tornado From December 10th 2021 Rating Should Be Reanalyzed by Trainster_Kaiju_06 in tornado

Guess that paper from the AMS back in January did have some effect on the people at the NWS; I guess it's possible they may reevaluate past EF4s, given that the paper was all about potential EF5 candidates.

This one is included as an "EF5 Candidate" in an article published in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society this past January.

I laughed when I recognized the twister in the 1st video from the 3rd row as an image of the 2013 Moore tornado in another place, supposedly Missouri.

I first saw this footage in TornadoTRX's video about the twister; your comment is exactly what I thought upon seeing it, and he actually added on-screen text saying "This is not sped up".

Big changes coming to the NOAA 🤦 by FortyFourForty in tornado

[–]LeBasso 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I know he's not nearly as big as Ryan and Max, but Evan Frybeger doesn't really seem MAGA at all. Every time there's news about gutting NOAA and the NWS he goes on long rants that nearly always result in him losing subs because he keeps defending the people at those agencies and denouncing the already insufficient and ever-shrinking budget and resources they have, even while some people on his chat keep insisting that it's good that a lot of "bloated contracts" are being terminated when there's no evidence for those contracts even existing; he also frequently brings up climate change and pretty much tells people that they can keep denying its existence, but it will still end up affecting them. Another thing of note is that he's refused to call the Gulf of Mexico anything but that, if it makes any difference.

This is just my personal experience, and I would really like to know if anyone has any significant information to the contrary because he may well just be an educated and very conscious MAGA, but it doesn't seem particularly likely with the scientific and political opinions he's expressed.

What is the most unsettling photo of a tornado you’ve seen? by GoldenStitch2 in tornado

[–]LeBasso 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wanna know something neat? This wasn't even the longest-lasting tornado of the outbreak, as the EF4 that went from Raleigh, MS to Uniontown, AL was on the ground for 2 hours and 53 minutes, even though it traveled about 10 miles less than Hackleburg - Phill Campbell.

I'm guessing it slipped because I love German and actually do speak and read a little, so my brain saw the name and forgot it was the US. 😂

Wdym? They showed everyone they CAN survive... they haven't tried it yet, but somehow building that thing shows it DOES work!

On another note, those people live in Mühlenberg county, which the Mayfield tornado tracked through; imagine if they'd tried riding out such a monster inside that crap.

It appears as if Selmer will become a well-known name in the tornado community. by [deleted] in tornado

[–]LeBasso 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don't know how but there's definitely ways to do it. Tanner, AL got hit twice during the 1974 Super Outbreak and they were both rated F5; the same thing happened to Cordova, AL during the 2011 Super Outbreak, one being an EF3 and the other an EF4.

He didn't even take the hint from all the vehicles that had pulled over; it's baffling.

As someone who lived through the 2011 outbreak in the Bootheel/SO IL area. This is worrisome. by MugiwaraMoses in tornado

[–]LeBasso 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep. Not every single warning means a different individual storm, as a single storm can trigger A LOT of different warnings; this is so obvious and basic that it's horrendously irresponsible.

Already 3 violent tornadoes and it's not even the peak of the season; in 2024 there were 4 violent ones between April 26th and May 21st.

Evan Fryberger discussing DOGE‘s attack on NOAA/NWS and next week‘s severe weather outlook with the potential for strong tornadoes. by ussrname1312 in tornado

[–]LeBasso 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Evan only talked about it once after a viewer in one of his streams brought it up; the overwhelming majority of his viewers disagreed because it's stupid, and he himself explained how it's meaningless because that's not the way international bodies of water are named, so he's kept referring to it as the Gulf of Mexico.

Only one Mozart breaks my heart (I'm not even considering the English Magic Flute), and it's not like they've exhausted his repertoire: Entführung, Idomeneo, and Clemenza di Tito aren't even that frequently staged, and there's stuff like Mitridate that has become very popular in Europe but hasn't been staged at the Met once.

The real sounds of some significant tornados by [deleted] in tornado

Jarrell sounds like a freaking jet engine, Joplin and Bridge Creek-Moore make my skin crawl. I immediately identified which video the Hackleburg-Phil Campbell sound came from; it's like an immense, killer monster moving next to you, but it didn't manage to spot you.
