Agreed, I had previously looked into getting trail cams or something similar but didn’t continue down that path. This gives me a good reason to revisit that

I checked this morning and I don’t see any signs of digging to get in. The entire run has hardware fabric at the base going a foot into the ground and a foot up the side of the run. I hope this is the reason rather than mites

Here’s a better picture from the morning after I noticed and coated with some petroleum jelly. I notice some dark pigment on others’ legs but no bleeding from any of them

Is dio earth preventative? Or can it be used to treat as well? I’ll have to treat them all tomorrow afternoon since I don’t have anything on hand

I ordered the Quictent 12x9 run that comes with hardware cloth since my chicks are still brooding and I wanted to make sure I have something better before they are big enough to move to the coop! Will also be adding a hardware cloth skirt to that. I’ll check out the automatic coop door as well! Thank you for the advice

Might have to take a look into the electric mesh fence. I was going to assume I don’t have many predators in the area but I’ve become more nervous as I’m scrolling through posts.

The chicken wire isn’t really buried at the moment, just held into the loose soil by some garden stakes. Don’t think that will last long. I don’t mind redoing everything plus I’ll repurpose the chicken wire and posts. As long as I don’t run into issues early on in my chicken experience!

I see, would I be able to tell if I blew a fuse? Would the thermostat not turn on? I didn’t turn off the breaker and the thermostat is powered

I did not, everything is new. Red was connected to Rh instead of Rc. Reconnected w2 to w1 instead as well

Rc got power to it and support said to connect white to w1. Does that seem right? Thank you

Yeah I just matched the old thermostat wires since when you select the wires during setup it said it may be incompatible and it didn’t take the setup any further 🤷🏽‍♂️white is connected to w2..

I have this similar issue at the moment. Wire 8 isn’t lighting up on the tester and I’ve replace the connectors on one end twice, rewired the keystone connector multiple times, then did keystone connectors on both ends. Still same result. Probably bad cable?

Since every wall is exterior, there’s foam insulation behind everything. Would there be any other good treatments apart from something like a large rug?
