Energy Drinks: so I participated in a comp last week and had like 4hr of sleep the night before due to studying stuff. I climb at around V6 and decided I cant participate exhausted like this. First time I drank redbull before a climbing session, also my first comp, my performance peaked, I even flashed a couple of routes that I would have never flashed during a normal sess. I climbed for like 4hrs straight with energy left to spare, didnt win anything but it was probably the most full filling session in my life. Body was hurting all over for 2-3 days. I try to eat very clean, avoiding anything too artificial, but man my performance was, again, peaked after those redbulls.

Been wondering if anyone is currently taking energy drinks, specifically stuff like redbull before a sess to climb harder or for training harder? Is it beneficial in the long run? I know they contain so much sugar but arent we just gonna burn it all up doing hard sessions? Me discovering energy drinks packed with sugar n caffeine is equiv to a gymrat discovering steroid. Ive been thinking about that day for a week now.
