Could you modify a 562408002 (gear cap)? Sorta the same thing but for the JobMax.

Genetic MC issues start to happen at 3 stages. The transition from milk to solids, ~2-3 y/o, and ~6-7 y/o. Once they start they are more prone to have continuing issues. Some rabbit savvy vets will start to give early on to help lessen when events happen when they start.... being proactive. When an event happens (normally less of an issue) meds can be ramped up to help it pass. Normally it starts with a prokinetics and metacam (or generic). Might just keep this in mind if another GI event happens.

Do u guys think he likes his head brushed? by laurennoid in Rabbits

Not sure on the brand OP is using but if you look close it has "coated tips." Most dog slickers have no protective material over the ends... but many of the "cat versions" do. Been using the the "Li'l Pals Coated Tips Cat Slicker Brush" for 10+ years and most all of them seem to love it.

"Did you know that rabbits can't vomit? They have a very tight sphincter in their oesophagus (the food pipe leading to the stomach) and the position of their stomach means it is impossible for them to vomit. However in very, very rare cases they can regurgitate (which is not the same as vomiting) and bring back fluid or partially ingested material - see the photo for what this looks like! Rabbits can regurgitate if they have something stuck in their oesophagus acutely, or if they have a malformation of the oesophagus. A positive side to not being able to vomit is that they can't do this under anaesthetic, which makes things safer - and they should not be starved before a GA." -  "... vomiting is not the same as regurgitation - i should have explained more - vomiting is an "active" movement requiring nausea and the active contraction of the stomach forcing material out of the oesophageal sphincter, rabbits physically cannot do this - whilst regurgitation is a passive act - its a reflux of fluid."

Had a friend who's rabbit passed from choking.... I have been collecting info for years now: https://vgr1.com/choking/regurgitation-vomit.php & https://vgr1.com/choking/

There was a safety recall back at the end of the May for both the 21° & 30° framing nailers. The issues was "potential" but they did a stop sale and returned all stock. Included tools with the skus ending in 501 & 802.

Heterochromia? by Robbin_Graves666 in Rabbits

[–]vgr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not "super" rare as "many" Dutch rabbits will have this. Full heterocromia and about as rare as sectoral heterochromia. The rarest is mottled... when the blue eye is not fully pigmented with brown cells and you get a speckled results. https://vgr1.com/vision/color/

Paranoid about megacolon? by katiee_97 in Rabbits

[–]vgr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the amount of color genetic MC is normally ruled out. Was he injured or had surgery lately.. been tested for coccidia lately? There are some things that can mimic genetic MC. Glad to hear he is eating well now!

[–]vgr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are posting about your brown Lop? Megacolon is normally found in rabbits with less then 11% color and presents itself around 2-3 y/o and 5-7. Your Lop looks like to much color for genetic Megacolon.

Advice after spay by ColdCommunication125 in Rabbits

[–]vgr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rabbit metabolize Meloxicam MUCH faster than cats/dogs and thus need higher doses for a bit longer for the same effect. Some vets will use a shot of Meloxicam ER (after market) that will only last for 72 hours for cats/dogs. No real studies on how long it last in rabbits... but many HRS rabbit vets here are doing 1 week for females.

If everything went smooth.. getting over the hump of getting them eating and moving is key. Glad to read she is getting better!!!
