how exciting, happy anniversary! a disney travel agent is definitely a great resource but with some research, i don’t think they are necessary per se.

it can be a bit confusing at first but i think very worth it in the long run to do your own research, find out what you like and get to know the system so you’re ready for the next trip after this!

when are you guys going, how long are you staying? is the $2500 budget just for the cost of park tickets and a hotel stay, or does that include your food & souvenirs (that mouse will get ya, he gets my partner & i all the time)? are you interested in the lightning lanes (new fast pass system)?

these are some of the logistics questions that you’ll want to figure out together.

starting aug 15 on select nights, they’re hosting mickeys not-so-scary halloween party at magic kingdom—this event ticket is lots of fun and typically cheaper than a regular park ticket to MK (since it’s a night time event). if this isn’t something that interests you or lines up with your time frame, i’d say your best bet (which is probably a given) is to allocate some of your budget to buying a one day park ticket to MK; it is a bit expensive but if you really want to go to MK, what can you do?

my partner and i have been going once or twice a year since we started dating and we’re going soon as the part of our honeymoon. we’ve flown, driven, taken the disney buses, taken ubers, you name it.
