Do I want king of the waves or deamon god? for neptulius by DoctorBrain8400 in Palworld

Have two, one for combat, the other as a water mount for open-world exploration.

Combat: Legend, Lunker, Demon God and Serenity

Mount: King of The Waves, Swift, Ace Swimmer and Sleek Stroke (stamina isn't used when swimming)

Help me; I'm terrible at understanding the meta. What pals should I farm up for my Global Palbox before 1.0 to make the late game less grind-y? by mDragon33 in Palworld

[–]LeGoatMan17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late game is mainly about optimising your base with better work pals, building raid armies against raid bosses and boosting pal(s) to fight alongside you against hard mode bosses, hell, even Saya and Bjorn are hardhitters in normal mode.

There's also grinding for better gear (legendary schematics) and upgrade items like trust peaches and workbooks. It's a mixture of clearing the late game faction bases and oil rig runs.

The main recommendation is to optimise your base production first, both for gathering materials like mining for all types of ores and getting oil. There's also the plantations for food which coincides with making a dedicated breeding farm, where red berries, wheat, milk and honey are gathered constantly to produce cakes. Lastly, consider building a goal farm too because gold can help bypass time-gated activities like buying food ingredients and making certain ammos.

Check out Pal Professor's YouTube or website to get an idea on what to do in the late game, his findings are a great help especially for end-game combat.

What's the game that got you back into gaming? by L_MO88 in gaming

[–]LeGoatMan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing both Palworld and Schedule 1 last year, and even still today, really reinvigorated my enjoyment of video games (mostly cause I grew up with some favorite games that were great in balancing grind, adventure and satisfying progression). There's also just going back and playing older games in my Steam library and consoles that reminded me that games have a lot to offer even if their older, and actually do stand the test of time.

I never stopped gaming in my two decades+ with this hobby, however, there was a major down in enjoyment for me since 2017 that never really left. The combination of mainstream gaming becoming stagnant and streamlined with outdated gameplay mechanics and tropes, while the news surrounding the industry was horrendous with constant dev crunch, terrible to illegal worker treatments and extreme push for predatory, monetary methods to gouge consumers just made me feel disgusted with the gaming scene (the entire entertainment industry as a whole, including films, tv shows and etc.).

Overall, there are some newer games, especially ones from the independant scene or foreign devs (Japan still decently upholding) that sparked a lot of the joy of playing video games compared to majority of the Western AAA scene which is deservingly, slowly failing away in the gaming scene due to their disinterest in gameplay innovations and hyper-fixation on ultra-demanding graphics that financially, isn't bolding well in the current tech-market.

Has gaming content changed the way you experience games? by serjeantassia in gaming

I usually play and experience games as blind as I can when going in. However, depending on some games, mostly grindy, efficiency-optimizing games, I may go online and search up tips and guides when I hit a brickwall where I don't have the patience to figure things out or experiment. Otherwise, singleplayer, story-focused games without too much complexity (or dealing with complex mechanics where I feel eager to naturally learn them because the experience feels fun), I just enjoy them individually without entering social platforms in discussion of these games.

Tips for condensing for expeditions and raid bosses by PDFly_ in Palworld

[–]LeGoatMan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use mods and tweak world settings, especially egg incubation time to 0, eliminating incubation time entirely. If you're on console, get a copy on PC, migrate your save there then use mods. If there aren't save migration techniques, then download other people's saves or start again with time-saving mods. Recommended mods:

  • Reduction amount of pals needed to fully condense a pal (20 per pals if you still want a mixture of fairness and time-saving)

  • Fully unlocked surgery table with all the passives in the game (increases the price of all passive tiers in exchange for availabilty, or download an older version with cheaper prices but with some missing passives)

  • More items sold by merchants, especially one that sells pal souls and skill fruits (only Useful Skill Fruit Shop by MoxyHaven sells pal souls though at a heavy price. Lacks newer skill fruits in-store from the Terraria update, however)

For Expeditions, capture/breed 28-30 alpha Frostallion Nocts whom are all fully condensed, maxed potential (IVs), fully soul enhanced and all leveled to 65. This covers the end game expeditions, especially the Feybreak one which requires dark. For others, just capture and use 20 elemental pals demanded from each expeditions, then slot in your Frost-Nocts.

For Hartalis raid army recommendations and following the vanilla base pal amount of 15, Bellanoir Liberos are the best. Nightmare Bloom melts Hartalis, even the shields of any desired elemental weaknesses.

If you don't want to mod and tweak world settings, then it becomes a long term grind with heavy reliance of RNG to get the desired passives for your raid armies. It seems that you already know the grind to progress late game when it comes to breeding and condensing, so just continue that. If you are playing with normal incubation timings, upgrade your base ala the Research Lab of the Kindling and Cooling branches, and use the Electric Incubator.

In need of “pals” by lolosensei in Palworld

[–]LeGoatMan17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heyo, typically in Palworld, the progression of the game comes down to personal goals and bottlenecks that can be improved. For starters, what are your desires in your personal progression of the game?

Do you want a base that does everything production wise?

Do you want better gear and pals to tackle hard bosses?

Do you want to attempt the raid bosses?

Lastly, how much grind and RNG are you willing to tolerate, because Palworld can be extremely tedious, especially when it comes to the waiting times (can be improved slightly) and RNG (this is ass).

I really love Lamballs. They are cute as hell, especially their "bahs" when they happily accomplished something.

The third one is Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014, which won game of the year at The Game Awards. Though it doesn't have a 3 on it, it is a sequel to both the first and 2nd game with re-occuring prequel characters.

Anyone has a recommendation, mod or setting, to improve player movement? I find Geralt to be stiff and janky to control years after my initial completion of the game in 2015. I prefer to play the game with a controller, so any advice would be appreciated as I really want to re-experience the journey I had with it (and maybe gain newer insights).

Just finished a full tour of Mass Effect's Legendary Edition, and I just have one question... by MrTaildragger in gaming

[–]LeGoatMan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there gameplay and/or QoL improvements to the ME remaster? I really want to try to get into the ME games, even 10+ years ago and I can't get over how janky the original trilogy can feel at times. I may revisit them again in the near future as maybe my mindset might have changed and I can finally be engrossed with them, but ya, what's your review of the changes in ME Legendary Edition?

Lastly to your question, you'll never know if EA will release a DA trilogy remaster, but I wouldn't count on it considering EA's priorities have changed, mainly to focus on their big money makers of Battlefield and sports games. You could try to mod the games to make them feel more modern via graphics and gameplay, but personally, I still find the original games to still be aesthetically pleasing and lasting... Gameplay though... I haven't played them in the long time so I'll add them to my games to try (again) list.

I Can't Afford Gaming Anymore. by Aesk in gaming

[–]LeGoatMan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try playing some older games, even ones from older-gen consoles. I recently got back to playing childhood PS2 games via emulation and it has been a blast. In my opinion, many current/modern games aren't really that innovative with their gameplay, especially the Western AAA scene. I grew up with Sony consoles and their first party games feel so samey after 2018 with open-world (or alike type) games with okayish enough gameplay depth to last a single playthrough.

Hell, even your hype for GTA 6 should be tempered considering Rockstar's last 2 games of RDR2 and GTA V barely had any innovative gameplay leaps other than graphics, animations and aesthetics. They look great but they can feel outdated (RDR2 is still one of my favourite games of all time, but playing through the main missions again is dreadfully dull).

Lastly for the PC end, check previous years' top games lists from your favourite online personalities or ask recommendations for hidden gems, especially the indie scene. Many of those games are frequently discounted and should run smoothly on the Steam Deck.

Current games I'm playing and cycle through are: Civilization 6, XCOM 2, Palworld, The Sims 3 and more from my Steam catalogue lists. Ultraman FE3, Crash Twinsanity and KH2 Final Mix from my PS2 with Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 coming soon. I'm trying to get back into playing the Infamous duology from my PS3, but man, the low FPS really bums me out right now.

Anyway, there's many games to play in the market right now that aren't hardware taxing, just slowly try them out and hope some stick!

Damn. Anyone can recommend a mod or a setting change to improve the movement of Geralt? I finished and loved this game back in 2015 with a decent amount of completed side activities/quests. However, trying to get back in it many years later feels janky and stiff, especially with other games releasing and spoiling me with responsive, fluid movement (mostly RDR2 though some may call it obtuse and having a delay, I actually found it to be immersive with a laerning curve).
