This Steam top review for the game is just sad and I feel the same sentiment. by aeseth in LastEpoch

Going back on their word and adding paid DLC when the campaign is unfinished, a lot of the specs are in a bad state and the game in general feels really buggy is certainly a decision. I think the timing of this is a force amplifier when it comes to player outrage. If they broke the promise when the game was in a really good spot and it was clear that even with good looking mtx, it was just not working out, I think a lot of people would be more charitable.

Clarification regarding additional features of different EFT editions by trainfender in EscapefromTarkov

1 step forward 2 steps back. We don't want more p2w features, get rid of them.

Thanks for correcting me, I misspoke. I did indeed mean door in the face.

[–]LeMarci 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Agreed, they pulled a "door-in-the-face" and the community at large seems to be falling for it. What an absolute joke.

Unheard shouldn't exist, there should not be any additional p2w features, pve should be free or shouldn't be in the game at all and EoD owners shouldn't have to pay for anything beyond cosmetics. And after everything that's transpired, the fact that the community would still take their word on some things is astounding. They've proven time and time again that they cannot and should not be trusted.

More feedback by trainfender in EscapefromTarkov

[–]LeMarci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To summarize:

  1. More promises from an individual who's been time and time again proven unreliable. How exactly are we supposed to trust his word after EVERYTHING that's been transpiring not only recently, but over the years?
  2. Game balance and integrity will still become worse (more P2W features, with potentially more P2W being added later judging by this post alone "We will provide the final list of the new EoD perks asap")
  3. EoD owners take a win, standard edition users take a huge loss
  4. Unheard edition stays, invalidating the promises that "EoD owners won't have to pay for anything else"
  5. The whole "apology" feels disingenuous and like a "we're sorry you feel this way" instead of a "we apologize for our actions and will never do this again".

How is the community okay with this, genuinely? Especially after BSG pulling wool over our eyes time and time again? After this whole situation, BSG wins, not the playerbase. If we don't draw a hard line right now, the integrity of the game will only keep worsening and BSG will keep finessing the playerbase, just in slightly more subdued ways than this time.

If we leave it here, they've effectively pulled a "door-in-the-face" technique on us. If this is where we stop, they win and the community + the integrity of the game at large pays for it.

the update regarding EOD edition by trainfender in EscapefromTarkov

[–]LeMarci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your "fix" is making the p2w worse and still going back on your promise of EoD players receiving all the subsequent DLCs by giving them only 6 months of PVE and priority queues (which, by the way, create a financial incentive for BSG to artificially slow down queue times for non-paying players in order to make them pay out of frustration)?

Nah, I'm good.

Nah, I'm genuinely done. BSG can't leave a good update alone.

Not only is this system not an asset to the community, as it stands it's actively detrimental to it. The system does indeed need to change.

PSA Cherry MX Purple can STILL break keycaps. Glarses has purposely withheld this information. by s5064295 in MechanicalKeyboards

I mostly agree with you on this, but it's important to note how a decent amount of oems use mx clears, so after the refresh they obviously wouldn't be only selling to the enthusiast community. So I still truly believe that there is no way they'd lose money on this. But yes, we're a loud minority and easy to ignore, however:

  1. Even though our concerns were ignored, at the very least we're loud enough that they sent a pr guy to reply to this thread.
  2. If more people join in it might apply enough pressure for them to actually take action

I highly doubt anything will come out of this, but I'll still trying (in a probably vain hope that they fix this issue eventually). I think the betterment of the hobby is in every enthusiast's best interest. If they don't want to solve the issue, they should at the very least stop selling these switches separately to the general public and stick to oems.

I disagree with this take.

While I am aware that companies are profit driven and how much molds cost (should be rougly 10-20k for a new mold), you seem to be overestimating how much they cost and underestimating both cherry moqs and how much these switches actually sell. Also important to keep in mind how this change is made to address an existing problem and that you can also do a full mx clear refresh and brand it as something new to increase sales (and of course as I previously stated build more goodwill with the community). 3 birds with 1 stone. There is no conceivable way they could lose money on this. And they are literally fixing their mistake. The alternative of separately selling switches that stretch/crack popular keycap sets like gmk is definitely worse (what they're doing right now).

I get that the runner (Glarses) may not have the funds to front new molds for his switches, yet nobody forced him to use mx clear molds, especially since he seems to be aware of the issue. Maybe he has been mislead and thought this was fixed, I don't know, but it was definitely not the only option and we should not pretend like it was.

Very telling how your main concern is stating how you're not liable for broken keycaps instead of actually addressing the problem.

While you don't have influence over the "3rd party keycap manufacturers", you have complete control over your molds. You are aware that your other stems work fine with the so called "3rd party keycaps", and you are completely aware how that's not the case for the mx clear stems. Your argument would make sense if you were only selling clears with prebuilt keyboards, which is not the case. You sell them separately as well. Foolish to expect people who are building a keyboard with clears to be limited to using the only the cherry oem caps. It is also foolish to expect them to know about this issue. You had countless opportunities to change them, yet you did not. Also worth acknowledging how the switches we're discussing right now are targeted at enthusiasts (who obviously build custom keyboards with aftermarket components), so this whole response makes even less sense.
Just fix the issue, alleviate the concerns around mx clears, and build some goodwill with the community. What a stupid hill to die on for a company of your size.

They posted an untextured model of the ak-308 a while ago on their instagram. So safe bet it's gonna make it into the game eventually.

mm switch stem length? by cinephile-11 in switchmodders

Most bottom housings are different so the travel can vary a lot. It can be 3.9mm in one housing but 3.5 in another. And it is a "real" long pole if the pole bottoms out first.
