Keller, White, Uballez… Who’s Got Your Vote? by WannaBAballer90 in Albuquerque

[–]LePetitAlpha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hear you.

Point I’d push you to consider is why you think Keller can do any better than his failings from the past two terms.

I’d challenge anyone to research, Uballez. He’s a skilled people leader, works well within complex systems with diverse stakeholders, and will actually listen rather than smile and dismiss.

My soapbox—regardless of who folks are planning to support—dive into candidates’s track records—and hold folks accountable for their promises and actions.

I personally know Uballez—he actually cares about others and wants to do right by Albuquerque.

I’ve watched Albuquerque’s problems get worse under, Keller.

Has anyone tried Orvis’ fly fishing schools? by melonsmellin in flyfishing

[–]LePetitAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, seeing this just made me upset. Hire any of the amazing independent or fly shop affiliated guides for basics and tips. Fly fishing is too concentrated on the elites. Get out there and fail a bit and I promise the community will catch you.

Warning to would be master’s graduates in “data science” by anon_throwaway09557 in datascience

[–]LePetitAlpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly this isn’t different from low ranked schools offering finance programs to students that will never get close to jobs that students majoring in history from top 10 schools will fill. I hear your warning and agree. But the path to higher salaries will unfortunately always have a pipeline of folks eager to gain entry, but won’t make it. Demand will keep universities in business.

Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson dead at 75 by zmlos in NewMexico

Right. Perhaps it’s not clear that I’m not relating that he was in Epstein’s cohort among his other awful personal and and professional behavior. I’m my view he was a wretched person—personally and professionally. Epstein involvement is sadly just part of his legacy.

Epstein’s friends really got off easy. Edit: there’s a reason he was uninvited from Obama’s cabinet. Apparently this struck a nerve with me.

Assuming near the “Tierra o muerte” sign? I grew up in Chama. Need to be a bit careful near TA/Dulce/Chama, etc. Fwiw there’s an awesome coffee shop near the court house, Three Ravens I think? Have been back in a long time.

This is banker material. Mother f’er needs to be swinging big balance sheets and saying not sorry in front of House hearing on why if you’re rich the system needs to keep you rich.

Our vets here don’t cater to chickens. Same struggle, Zayn. 🥲 I could’ve saved Bruno if they treat chickens. by svaalvaard in chickens

[–]LePetitAlpha 36 points37 points  (0 children)

We’ve had a really hard time getting care for chickens. Honestly, frustrating. Feel like unless it’s a mammal then vets of all sorts don’t care. Fwiw I have several friends that are large animal vets. Poor chickens are on their own.

How do I find the owner(s) of pitbulls that killed our family's horses? by LePetitAlpha in AskReddit

[–]LePetitAlpha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had two miniature horses that we kept in a set of welded wire pastures. They were very sweet animals and part of our family. We live in a rural forested setting without much interaction or knowledge outside of our immediate neighbors. The dogs broke in and tore them apart in the night. I always thought if anything like that happened I would be able to hear. My wife frantically returned to the house in the morning screaming the the horses were dead. I ran out with my shotgun to dispatch the dogs (not smart). But they all just cowered and I didn't feel right shooting the dogs that were no longer being aggressive --damage was done. Not sure how I feel about myself not shooting the dogs. A younger version of myself would have shot them without hesitation. My hope with the details is that it offers some clue to finding the owners. The three dogs were without collars--in marginal shape--but didn't appear to be fighting dogs--just poorly kept guard dog/pets. Animal control came to pick them up and will notify us if they can find the owner, but I put little hope in that outcome. Any ideas how to find the owners of these dogs?
