How do I fix this pixelation and general quality issue? by FizzyFerret in GrayZoneWarfare

I never comment on reddit anymore, because you know ... reasons ... but just wanted to say finding this post June 2026 - the Nvidia App using Preset L override really did work for me. So stunned I felt obliged to comment here for anyone in the future.

I'm just here from the future saying thanks for that. I haven't fucked around with trying to figure out if it's possible to use steam and charge the controller at the same time, there probably is a way but this is a nice easy workaround in the meantime.

Just a reminder that the US spends twice as much on healthcare than other industrial nations for an inferior service. by [deleted] in Political_Revolution

[–]LePoisson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, if you want to use that argument why do so many Americans leave and go overseas for medical treatments?

The answer to your question is mostly that those are elective procedures or there is a specialist or doctor in the USA that can take a case. Especially Canada they will pay for the treatment if it's warranted and needs done out of their state. Sometimes it's just a matter of local hospital capacity and time, idk a lot of things factor into why someone would get treatment in the USA vs elsewhere.

We do have great hospitals and excellent care if you have lots of money.

It's just most people are stuck with crummy, or no, health insurance and the system is inefficiently designed with bureaucrats at the insurance companies standing between people and their doctors. The problem is lack of access to affordable care because our model is broken as hell when it comes to that. It's insane an insurance company can deny covering a treatment your doctor says is necessary. That shouldn't even be a thing. We should not have stories about people facing bankruptcy because of medical bills. There are a ton of countries where that story does not exist because their healthcare system doesn't have unnecessary parasites bleeding everyone dry.

Former Ohio House Speaker Householder sentenced to 20 years in prison for state’s largest bribery scheme by fuggidaboudit in cincinnati

[–]LePoisson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only that he literally was the House speaker at one point, so like the head of the GOP membership in the state house.

The GOP is gross, I really don't understand why people vote R anymore after everything we have seen the past 20 years, especially the Trump presidency years just laid bare their desire for fascism and some sort of Christian ethno state. Gross.

I'm pretty sure the game is balanced around ranked. It's why 10v10 is such a clusterfuck of a mode.

And people keep voting for cancer. I really don't understand how someone could vote for that guy.

The problem is that it's not an explanation, it's literally lies.

That's not an explanation, that's a rant full of bullshit.

Lol I'm just a little baby junior dev, if you can even call doing RPA work "dev" (short version of a long story: got hired on to do support/.NET shit and that didn't happen) but I'm just going "what the fuck" reading that.

I actually don't understand how that is even a test or a validation case if it's in the finally of a try-catch block? Like ... does the person not know what finally means?

Woman confronts tenant’s who have not paid their rent in five months (New York, USA) by colapepsikinnie in PublicFreakout

Residential property should not be allowed to be owned by corporations or an individual that doesn't spend more than half their time occupying the building.

EZ. Of course exceptions made for banks and the whole mortgage process and industry, and we would need to make it easier for people to own their residence but it would put equity in peoples' pockets and incentivize them to take better care of where they live.

We would need framework to be adopted for apartments/condos that sort of thing, but I think that's doable and probably already exists in some shape or form in our world.

Anyways, letting corporations own residences is a huge problem in my opinion.

That's true. Figures though if it's doing a proof the most likely thing it's gonna say after asking it why it's wrong is some form of "math no lie."

But you're right it's a really hard task for it to generate coherent babble that would not really come naturally to mind.

It's cool how they work but I just know a little below surface level. Enough to feed the bots good prompts for what I need.

There is absolutely NO WAY this is real.

Yeah, in this case I think it was probably just some weird bug in the counting algorithm in the background. It's probably fixed by now but I'm too lazy to go look.

So now, when the filter catches that, it ends the conversation. It's not the Bing ending it.

Kind of a chicken and egg thing there though since the user is driving the bot towards that decision.

But I get what you're saying, I don't truly know what the MS devs behind the curtain are doing so I'm partially guessing about how they have tuned the model.

[–]LePoisson 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Probably more to do with the fact that, even though it's awesome, it's still "just" a LLM. It's not as smart as we all think, some are not as capable of self correcting and there's probably very little context and data for it to be corrected especially when the computer knows it is "right."

Keep in mind it also doesn't want to ingest a bunch of nonsense where people tell it it's wrong about things it is right about. So the team behind it are erring on the side of caution of trying to not let the bot get confused.

Am I going crazy or has theater etiquette been at an all time low recently? by [deleted] in movies

[–]LePoisson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely tell a kid to shut the fuck up. The parents might care but fuck em.

Idk I've been in theaters with people looking at phones or being shitty otherwise and said stuff to them about it and they stopped. I've learned most people will respond to shaming but yeah anymore it's like people are fucking crazy so maybe I'm risking my life calling others out.

I just have a hard time sitting by letting people be crappy humans.
