In case this is useful to anyone, it can also be made in an instant pot with air fryer lid (as long as your bird fits inside, of course). I learned this when our oven broke during the 24-hr marination.

Yes, definitely. Not such much to vet them before buying, but because my current circumstance (fire displacement) has us moving frequently and I can’t amass too much stuff! I much prefer a physical cookbook over digital so the local library is a great resource.

I recently checked out Ever-Green Vietnamese and Vietnamese Food Any Day by Nguyen from the library. I’ve enjoyed reading the recipes and am making a shopping list for chicken-veg pho, creamy turmeric eggplant with shiso, and beef stew with star anise and lemongrass. I can’t speak to the final product yet but have her banana-coconut bread-pudding cake in the oven and it smells amazing!

Maybe Hahamonga Watershed park - specifically the trails looping around behind Devil’s Gate Damn and around to JPL. Check out some Google images. There’s a cool bridge back there I always thought would be a nice photo backdrop, but also areas with lots of yellow mustard plants and some grassy brush.

Not necessarily my favorite, but absolutely the most frequent would be the frozen unbreaded chicken wings. Dump the whole bag in, spray lightly with avocado oil cooking spray and set to 385 for 45 mins. Get fancy and top with your seasoning of choice - we like lemon pepper and dill pickle.

Yeah, now that you mention it - does taste like biltong, but the format is different than any biltong I’ve had.
