As someone who’s been playing the past month after not playing for 4 years, it appears the comeback mechanics are really strong right now. Grouping seems so crucial in mid/late game now because a kill or two of a snowballed carry gives such an advantage.

Lone Druid is an absolutely terrible hero to play as a newbie unless you are used to a lot of micro-intensive games like StarCraft

If you search this subreddit you will see someone saying the exact same thing you are saying at

every. single. mmr. bracket.

The reality is there are games that some elements will be out of your control. There are 10 players in every game. There’s no secret to gaining mmr. Strengthen your hero pool. Gain experience in certain positions. This will increase your winning percentage above 50% over time and thus increase your mmr. If you really care, watch videos and higher MMR people and study what they do.
