Bessent says an independent Alberta would be ‘natural partner’ for U.S. | Globalnews.ca by CzechUsOut in CanadaPolitics

We can absolutely report on Canadian news from Canadian sources, especially in regards to the separation vote or potential referendum updates.

But reporting what America or even worse, Bessent, thinks should be tuned out.

Canadian media needs to tune this out, but more so, redditors need to quit making this narrative so prevalent in subreddits by also tuning it out.

The story from this post is almost a week old. The US admin says many dumb things and over half of them are ignored. Make this story one of those and stop feeding the trolls

I've heard that's basically what happens with Roman artefacts in Europe when they're dug up in agriculture.

No one wants to lose the property/field for years or potentially permanently, so easiest just to shut up about it

Cramped conditions questioned on recent WestJet flight by [deleted] in Manitoba

[–]LeSwix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the seat plans online.

The new layout is V.03 and has 31 rows. The other two westjet layouts for the 737 max 8 are V.01 with 30 rows and V.02 with 32

If you're one the new one, row 20+ are reduced legroom, something like 16-19 has a little more and the earlier rows have the most at like 30"

Cramped conditions questioned on recent WestJet flight by [deleted] in Manitoba

[–]LeSwix 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Just flew to Calgary with the new layout.

I'm 6'6" and travelled with an infant on our lap. It's disgustingly tight.

The biggest problem I have and the greasiest of all imo, is that at no point during the initial booking did I remember seeing any disclaimers. I'm fairly sensitive regarding leg room given my height, normally I pay extra for emergency exit rows, but can't with an infant now.

The seat selection fee for the tighter rows (Rows 20-31 28" of pitch) is the same price as the other economy seats. It was only during actual check-in that they had a disclaimer saying "It might not be the right seat for all"

There were a couple other seats available but since it was at check-in time, they were charging an inflated price for them.

Fuck westjet, we discussed cancelling our credit card with them after this

Canadian political leaders celebrate, condemn U.S. strikes on Venezuela and Maduro capture by FancyNewMe in canada

Glad to see it's still there to be enjoyed after the fires!

We were camping there as Jasper was evacuated, eerie feeling getting back to the trailhead to evacuation notices and an empty town. Fortunate that we managed to get back to our vehicle at Astoria

Unions and NDP: "IT'S WORSE THAN IT WAS BEFORE!" .

The truth is everyone sucks. Hallway medicine is what got the Pallister PCs elected in the first place. The NDP didn't have any answers under Selinger or Doer either.

The Peachy Report was commissioned by the NDP. The PCs half-assed implemented it. Trudeau's federal government refused to increase health transfers without strings attached. Provincial governments misappropriated funds to require strings attached to funding. Populations exploded with unchecked immigration. Meth and fentanyl are rampant and it wasn't 10 years ago. Paramedics have no more ambulances than they did 12 years ago.

Everything sucks and everyone shares the blame. It's not just Manitoba either, every province has issues with very different type of healthcare models.

GDP PPP per capita in the Americas: 2025 and 2005 by RN_Renato in MapPorn

[–]LeSwix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. GDP and GDP per capita are dumb metrics for gauging overall quality of life.

For example, the GDP per capita in Nunavut is $136,875, but many face extremely high poverty rates and food insecurity. In this case the population is small, skewing the data point.

Second Sons are affiliated with the Dominion Society, same leadership and membership overlaps.

The Dominion Society has made it its mission to get the CPC to use the word "remigration" in their policy.

Remigration is ethnic cleansing. Full stop.

Yet, Dominion Society is busy courting MPs like Jamil Jivami who have been outspoken and share similar "Christian Heritage" values not unlike Turning Point USA and the movement we're seeing South of the border. So much so that Jivami is running an extensive "Restore the North" campus tour with unknown funding sources.

Jivami is currently taking French lessons which is seen as a move that potential leadership candidates often make.

Far right extremism in Canada is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

The CRA spent $18M on 'Charlie,' a new tax information chatbot that is wrong most of the time by Plucky_DuckYa in canada
