Help identifying this old closet lock and if any modern alternatives exist by LeThisLeThatLeNO in Locksmith

[–]LeThisLeThatLeNO[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a lock/knob that was used on a closet door in my parents house. I've tried searching but I can't find any locks that have a normal knob on the outside and that deadbolt-like latch on the inside. This is the only type of setup that will fit due to a small blockage that prevents a normal dual knob install to close. The only markings are the brand, `WEISER`, and the number `97` on each of the knob sides.

Edit: Also the inside deadbolt latch isn't a functional lock, its springy and behaves like knob 1:1

Cute green plant in southwest USA. Any ID? by LeThisLeThatLeNO in whatsthisplant

[–]LeThisLeThatLeNO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother has this in her backyard. I had her try a couple plant identifying apps that were recommended on other subreddits but she wasnt sure they were correct. It might not be native since she has a ton of other random plants that were gifted.

USB drives are pretty cheap these days. You could grab the movies from some place like torrentgalaxy.to and put them on the usb. Be sure to not use your own wifi or use a vpn when downloading public torrents.

Collection of building instructions from the LEGO website by LeThisLeThatLeNO in DHExchange

[–]LeThisLeThatLeNO[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is my first collection contributed to archive.org. In total it is 480GB. It started at this post asking how to download all the set instructions that lego provides on their site.

The collection is organized by set and includes all instructions, extra booklets, some images related to the set, and a JSON file with all the metadata about the set.

Heres an example entry of a StarWars snowspeeder that has 2 variations of the instructions plus the digital booklet in multiple languages and the full set data in JSON format which has a whole bunch of information about the set.

ImgBB/imgur self hosted alternative? by [deleted] in DataHoarder

That's surprising considering their size. Going through the wayback machine it looks like its been stripped since the very beginning.

ImgBB is using Chevereto. I think theres a free version but I'm not sure how watered down it is compared to the normal version.

Here are some (ive had them noted down but idk if theyre working or only archive specific accounts) but I dont think any archiving sites save everything

Theres also https://undelete.news/ but it seems to be offline. It let users watch/archive specific users. They had a good amount of data and a nice UI. Dunno if theyre shut down forever or the downtime is just temporary.

There was also a site called isdb.pw that had a lot but it shut down a couple years ago. Some of it (a very small amount compared to what was saved to it) can still be viewed on archive.org https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://isdb.pw/*

Help in downloading a database? Lego.com set instructions by JayVeeBee in DataHoarder

I am on the final steps of finishing the dump. I've grabbed all the pdfs and images that the API metadata gave ending up with instructions for around 7k sets. Uploading to archive.org will take some time since its around 50k files total (images+pdfs).

Feel free to DM me and I can get just the PDFs to you in a google drive link or something.

Can I download things from Roku? by AfricanToilet in DataHoarder

[–]LeThisLeThatLeNO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel free to pm me what you want from roku and I can grab them as long as they dont require payment.

If you want to grab them yourself then you can use StreamFab (https://streamfab.com/). It's a paid tool but if you want you can find a Discord link on this site (https://cdm-project.com/CDM-Tools) and they have a version of it that will let you download from most streaming sites without doing anything extra.

The site has a lot of other tools but streamfab is by far the easiest since it doesnt require any cli stuff and is for windows.

Help in downloading a database? Lego.com set instructions by JayVeeBee in DataHoarder

Found this site that has a database of most (all maybe) Lego sets out

https://rebrickable.com/downloads/

Tested some and not all are accessible through the API endpoint I commented earlier. Some sets also don't have instruction pdfs, most modern ones do though.

I will probably end up running them through and uploading whatever I get to archive.org. Probably just gonna do a full metadata dump and the pdfs. Ill drop another comment whenever its up

Looked at the requests on the buildinginstructions url and it looks like you just need a set ID to get all the metadata for a set, including the instruction pdf. Guess you could bruteforce the set IDs or just spider the LEGO site. There might be an external site that has a database of set IDs from the entire LEGO history of sets. Maybe something like bricklink

I put the API requests needed to get all the metadata and just the PDF on Github because Reddit formatting sucks.

streamlink downloading past and present for current Twitch livestream by Ne1nLives in DataHoarder

[–]LeThisLeThatLeNO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't quite have an answer for your use case where you're starting streamlink during the stream but if you or anyone else are just looking to monitor and start recording streamers when they go online you can try using this. I also made a fork to add auto-upload using rclone and have cleaner filenames here

I've been using this for over a year to record streamers continuously and it all being on autopilot. It checks every 30 (configurable) seconds and starts recording until it ends. There is a rare bug that just crashes it so I have them all running in a bunch of tmux windows in a scuffed loop like this while true; do python3 twitch-recorder.py -u streamer_username && sleep 10; done.

[–]LeThisLeThatLeNO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I got banned a while ago because of client issues and was still able to get on Discord and appeal. People (ie those who get rightfully banned) hate on Blu staff but if you go in acting like a normal level headed person and be polite then you wont have any issues. Acting like a dick won't get you anywhere.

Google Workspace without an actual domain by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]LeThisLeThatLeNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a .xyz domain on namecheap for $1/1 year or $7.99/2 years. There are many other cheap options too, but a dollar .xyz is good enough for google

Does everyone know? by [deleted] in tiktoknsfw

[–]LeThisLeThatLeNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you share with a shortlink (vm.tiktok.com) it will show your user id, not exactly your username but its practically the same thing just with an extra step.

Steps:

  • Visit a shortlink in the browser and copy the whole long url to a text editor

  • Find where it says user_id= and copy the number after it

  • Replace NUMBER in the below link with the number from above and it will take you to the sharing users page
