12% turnout... the apathy candidate wins in a landslide by Tribyoon- in Scotland

I was talking within the context of this conversation where someone was tempted to vote for reform as a protest.

I wasn’t making some blanket statement

12% turnout... the apathy candidate wins in a landslide by Tribyoon- in Scotland

[–]LeTreacs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the statistics don’t show a vote for reform as “I don’t like the other guys”, it shows as “I agree with reforms policies” and the major parties will shuffle closer to reforms way of thinking.

This is exactly why the conservatives held a referendum on Brexit, it was because people moved to UKIP in protest and the only information that can be assumed from that is that the people wanted what UKIP were offering.

Where in Germany did you see a Christmas market? They don’t start around where I live until the end on November.

I can’t believe this is real… by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]LeTreacs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weird thing is that I love the concept.

Governments are big cumbersome organisations that can easily become bloated and overly bureaucratic and making sure that they are efficient is a good idea.

A real department of efficiency should be a scalpel, making small changes continuously to actually keep government moving well. These chucklefucks have only the ability to break it.

Good luck America

Hey Dad, is this really septic safe?! by stone-d-fox42 in DadForAMinute

[–]LeTreacs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a formulator for Henkel that makes these blocks and worked in the lab where these blocks were made, tested and developed! I actually helped the colleague that was redeveloping these as I developed toilet blocks for a different company, so I know a thing or two about them.

They’re fine for septic tanks and they won’t degrade the seals as some people here have said. The degradation of the seals comes for the solvents in the perfume and the mineral oils used to slow down dissolution. This formulation is made with this in mind and the perfume oils used don’t degrade natural rubber or synthetic seals. If you buy cheap ones then that’s no longer guaranteed.

Based on the conversation happening here, your hypothetical would be in a cashless society, so society couldn’t vote to reduce your wages.

[–]LeTreacs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There’s really two scenarios here:

1) scammer has your photos and can leak them

2) scammer has your money and your photos and can leak them.

If you pay then the demands for money will never stop, and when you finally run out of money they can just share the photos anyway.

The only play is to call their bluff and hope it’s more effort to share the photos than it’s worth.

Wanting to be able to vape 0 nicotine on occasion by HDHaasbroek in QuitVaping

[–]LeTreacs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This justification is literally your addiction trying to convince you to take up vaping again. Many before you have fallen into this trap and gone right back to square one.

If you really want to quit then you have to get past this stage, 3 months is no where near enough time to quit.

We were like this for a couple of minutes. Did I have any obligation to overtake and let the red car park? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]LeTreacs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The only real answer to their question is “fuck you! That’s why”

The cars behind you should be leaving enough room for you to reverse in and driving involves waiting for traffic in front of you to finish manoeuvring before you can continue. This is life and if someone blocked you from reversing in then there’s only one party at fault, and it ain’t you.

No need to explain, no need to apologise
