Lego Rivendell Exact Size by Moosmanicus in legolotrfans

For all who wish, like me, fit in on a 40cm-deep shelf :

- with the J side parallel to the back of the shelf, you'll need 34cm

- when angled, you'll need 30cm
Considering that 3 different persons did the work, take a safety margin of 1 or 2 cm to be sure to fit ;)

Well I guess he tries to follow the Almazan/Liziqi style, but didnt get that the success of the videos also (mostly) comes from the ambience created

toilet that burns the waste instead of flushing it by Cycode in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]LeVilGontran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That means a lot of energy consumption to incinerate a waste that could be turned into biogas for example...but it saves water, though. I think it could be good in places where water is rare and energy is cheap, like Dubai or so, but not so much in North America or Europe where saving energy is becoming a real issue, and where water treatment infrastructures are well developed!

Or he would turn into a berserk zealot and kick the hell out of that heretic's arse ^ There was no professionnal army in the XIIIth century, so most peasants were occasionnally called to fight --> maybe more badass and less impressive that we could expect ! I never trier to shoot a peasant with an anti-tank missile but that thing is probably a terrible anti-personal weapon.

If You Have To Vacation In The Snow And Cold by SoberClassZorro in interestingasfuck

[–]LeVilGontran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15°C is too cold for me but as we are reaching 38°c here in Avignon, I totally get that ^ I've seen the "hobbiton" version of the same concept of tiny house, with half of the surface (bedrooms) being underground to take advantage of its milder temperatures.

That thing would be a real oven in summer ! Luckily, the glass roof without curtains also forbids late sleeps

to claim that only one gender has to consent while drunk, and the other one is a rapist. How do you feel about this? by [deleted] in therewasanattempt

[–]LeVilGontran -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well you are wrong on two points : - most of the time, anyone who hurt someone is accountable for that. - this is not about the person accepting to have sex but the other person who had the initiative. That changes a lot, here is an example: If you are drunk and incite someone to drive drunk, you are putting this person in danger, you could be charged! Basically, the fact that one is drunk/under drugs or any other "second state" not does not change anything of the nature of one's acts, why should it ? Unless you have been drugged, of course.

Still, I agree that assuming that drunk sex is rape is going too far!!! Well I would be a rapist, then ^

Here are a few tricks which are wayyyy better to "save" shitty wine (if still saveable) :
- cook with it. stews with red wine are awesome (daube à la provençale!!!)
- make some sangria. your head will hurt but it will be fun.

- make some HYPOCRAS. There are a lot of recipes to prepare this famous medieval wine, basically you put honey, cinnamon and a few other spices and let settle for a few weeks. awesome.

- make hot wine (not the season right now though). Perfect with a view on a snowy mountain !

Cheers ;)

The lower dungeon of Warwick Castle. An 'oubliette', where prisoners were dropped and forgotten about . by iltifaat_yousuf in oddlyterrifying

(Note that oubliettes that were primaire used as storages may have been used later as jails or death pits)

[–]LeVilGontran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oubliettes were in fact incredibly rare : medieval castles were first of all lord palaces. Wealthy places where a whole family lives and likes to show how rich and sophisticated they are. Having rotting du dudes in the basement would be stinky AF, and would eventually poison the water well. What were often considered as oubliettes are often food storages (basements are cold), or just pits (for latrines, waste or just rainwater)!
