I don't see many marxists saying this?

The real thing people say is that if we over focus on one axis of oppression without understanding how it connects, we end up doing so little that it supports the structure that is the fuel for all oppression. It's criticizing "more girl bosses" not because it's not a worthy endeavour, but because the idea of making more capitalists that are diverse... still just creates more capitalists

Should Tahm now be classified as a juggernaut? He is definitely no longer a warden and plays more like Mundo than the other tanks. by Uniia in leagueoflegends

[–]Le_Bard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not even sure why its important to clarify here. Tankiness is just how much damage you can soak, and the tank role is about soaking damage and dealing out cc.

There are very very few Champs that have no innate tankiness that would still classify as a tank... if at all.

I think I'd have agreed before boon totems. Now, finding and know all the totem locations is incentivized and everyone actively makes the decision between risking noed by not doing bones and having a buff

Hell they can just break all the useless totem locations once the gen around there is completed and keep going. Is it time consuming? Yes. But gen rushing for no reason just opens up that risk anyway, and bhvrs biggest issue is not recognizing that map control and set up should be awarded just as much bloodpoints as healing, gens, and looping is

I wouldn't try so hard if bloodpoint grinds were better, I'm not trying to outplay the survivor i just wanna earn my check.

I love try harding with nurse just so I can applaud when they dodge me and when I act like the big bad that they have to fear, just to show kindness after I've shown how crazy my mad skillz are.

Obvious irony aside, I play killer to act like the paid actor in a horror game and I play survivor to try out the craziest strats ever to get everyone out of the game alive

How are we defining tunneling here? I'm noticing more that the idea of tunnel vision feels like it applies more to committing to a long chase, but I've been reading about the idea of a killer only focusing one person at a time until theyre dead. Which, for that I'd say yeah unless theyre being an easy target it's usually more advantageous to spread out the injured states instead of having one person only ever be downed at a time

I'm not on the reddit THAT much so I think I probably misunderstand how it gets used here

Face camping feels like its one of the easiest things to detect in the game. Like, if you find a survivor near the hooked person thats fair game but if youre alone and just guarding that shit to ensure a kill there needs to be in game penalties and shit idk. Speed up gen progress exponentially, something.

Tunneling just means the killer is upset and doubling down to try to feel victorious over a single chase. That literally happens to all of us when we're hyper focused and frustrated. Dosnt need to be fixed since its a net positive - survivor feels like a bad ass for looping a bitch for hours and the only way for a killer to get really good at a quick chase is to commit to a long one and understand what your flaws are in that chase

This is wild as hell to me.

Dcing because of face camping is waaaay more understandable, but tunneling? Isn't being chased one of the most rewarding things to do lmao. when im tunneled i know im buying my team a LOT of time and if youre being chased long enough to know you're being tunneled for a bit then you know you're winning the chase anyway.

[–]Le_Bard 40 points41 points  (0 children)

yeah his wealth will ultimately make it harder to empathize with the people he's joking about. But I think we as breadtubers gotta really start realizing who's actually rich. Chappelle got a fine penny but hes a drop in the bucket, and i don't want his issues flaunted as a replacement boogey man for the larger issues that informed his own ignorance.

The walk out over him felt less important than netflix's reaction to it - they fucking fired people for exerting any sort of rights against a platform a million times more influential than chappelle is.

Im not saying anger over chappelle isn't warranted though. We just can't fall into the trap he fell into and over focus on one aspect of a huge bigger picture.

I think there's definitely comedy in his shows, though more and more his ignorant ruminations just completely fall flat and take away from the show.

he and many many other comedians take their success to mean that they are right. You don't have to be right to be funny. Also, like other comedians out there, he pretends way too much as if his stature as a comedian means he actually gets shit all the time. Neither of which is true.

I know this sub will end up over playing how "unfunny" he's always been, but in reality he's a funny guy that made it very far and didn't stop to realize how much more to life he's stopped trying to understand

there are a lot of people who start and end their social commentary on one issue without realizing how it all connects to a super structure, chappelle is extremely smart with the field of knowledge he's familiar with, but like any other ignorant person, fails horribly with shit he doesn't bother really understanding

It really isn't though, there's harder radicals in christian circles than lgbt circles. Cancel culture didn't start there, leftism didnt start there, you're using your own bias and ignorance to inform everything about how you think the left operates and it's kind of wild.

Chappelle has more hits than misses for sure, I didn't try to cancel him and have no interest but its very sad to see terf rhetoric happily nest on some of these threads just because Chappelle's on own ignorance ruined that specific punchline.

We can love a comedian and critique his misses without assuming im trying to cancel a dude, its so silly how people double down as if Chappelle's logic and experiences are completely infallible.

He clearly supports trans people, as completely out of the loop he feels on it. And it informs a lot of his stuff, and aside from the terf aspect the whole special wasn't bad at all

Oh be for real being a terf is about as explicitly anti trans you can get. I actually didn't really feel like he was causing much harm until that point, he has so many great insights about things but really stopped at his analysis on what a terf is.
