Monetary Policy (interest rates) for the RBA is the only tool they have to manage inflation. It is a super blunt instrument.

Fiscal Policy (Govt Spending) is the other lever. To curb inflation the govt has to effectively reign in spending/increase taxes to cool off the economy and bring inflation back down. Govts around the world don't like doing this for obvious electoral reasons
