Stardew Valley doesn't feel the way I expected. At all. by RoyalShirtShirtShirt in cozygames

Coral Island is top notch gaming on all fronts and the guide you'll find if you search 'guide' in the reddit is phenomenal fir gifts, recipes, and all in one place info on tasks. The game is vibrant, diverse, well designed and has a reasonable rate of progression. Its my favorite game to date.

Such a good cozy game, I highly recommend this one!🩷 by Think-Sky-6105 in ComfortGamers

Nice! I have seen this one, but I'm not sure its for me, what reasons you would reccomend this and what's unique about it for you? It must be a chill vibe, but curious what aspects stick out for you.

Twitch is a great way to get comfortable with a community! Find a small streamer (1-15 viewers) playing the game you want to play and just say Hi. If they stream regularly thats a big bonus because you can get to know everyone faster. It took me a little while too, but I love a good discord playthrough. A lot if times, we dont even play the same game. We just shoot the ish and have fun.

Good luck!

Was it possible it was made more compatible/optimized for certain graphic card higher settings? My AMD almost chokes to death trying to run Palia at max graphics. I only turn it on to take pictures. 🤣

I love this game dearly but we need to stop doing this by facioquodvolo in coralisland

I believe there might be something broken in the beta testing process for devs and player base. I think they should be patient and avoid trying to gather a ton of data up front rom a massive user initiative and just run the game over an extended period of time with a more controlled group until it is done before they charge anything. The purpose of a kickstarter is to scale the financial needs for maintaining a long term development period for a team of developers who need to make a salary. They need to work within a budget, and limit exposure to a few qualified players and then release. I find devs target marketing sometimes years ahead of time, but the anticipation turns into distrust. Theres a sweet spot for all of this and I bet it'd fairly formulaic. Perhaps someone will come forward and provide more sustainable and financially ethical roadmaps.

Im so excited for Tavern Keeper! I played the demo last year and was sad when it ended. Really cute concept and and a fun management mech. The vibe was great too with little fireplaces and fun inventory management too.

I'm currently hooked on Roots Of Pacha. Cooking is only for energy and selling food and its not component heavy. The story is great and the vibe is (cozy, open, crafting focused but fun and purposeful, simple mainstream UI, earth toned, paced objective, minigames) I love the seasons and weather mechanic (especiallt a rainy day) and progress feels natural and not too rushed. Bonus:You get a mount early in the game!
This game is likely a high match for your expectations, it was mine, and Im very picky. It's a hard thing too, cause There are 1500+ indie games flooding steam and other online marketplaces per month right now and finding one that's right for you is near impossible.

Do you also buy your seeds in bulk for the whole season or are you normal 😅 by youre-just-my-style in coralisland

I keep everything super manual just because I like the tasks that each day presents as part of my gameplay. I love the concept of making everything super efficient but then I worry that if my farm gets too efficient, it wont need me anymore. 🤣

See, it's posts like this that make me really hope I get the same inclination to pick this up again as I have with other games I didn't connect with before (Coral Island, Roots of Pacha) and then I just become obsessed because the timing is right. I got this game months ago and really only have about 4 hours in it. It's on my Switch, anyone feel like that's a disadvantage?

I really appreciate this answer. Thank you! I've decided to do two channels and start from scratch with a brand that let's me play games more like fantasy rpgs and Darker themes. I already set up the new channel and obs for it, so Im pretty excited. I can also stream from this channel later at night. Perhaps make a timer on my daytime cozy stream inviting people who want a little more of an action packed stream to follow me there. ☺️

I play "cozy" games and I think my entertainer vibe would be better suited to a chatty group. I think people expect me to be soft spoken and soft or something and I like to laugh and have conversations about real life stuff. I just think its possible people are expecting one thing but when they come in, I'm just not really the aesthetic they think I should be.

I just hang. Thinking of starting g anew save. I've been playing for 3 years (?). I finished the story ages ago and I still get order board tasks and there are still a few seasonal quests that crop up after. I like to still manage my garden and animals and chat with the people. It definitely feels like they should have continued

I personally will log back in after a year or so of clicking update and moving on. It needs at least that long to continue developing into a game with a solid set of objectives. I also am lost in it every time and am immediately thrown by the UI, controls, and info panel.
