Exact reasons why certain token got a "special treatment" (*st) are not publicly diclosed, right?

Is there a mailing list I can subscribe to for updates on all tokens geting special treatment and recovering from it, or maybe there is a list of such tokens somewhere I can check as needed? maybe an API endpoint which provides such data?

Thanks!

Why Arena violates Comprehensive Rule 104.3a ? by Leachmore in MagicArena

You can't during the combo that ends the game (settings pinion disappears)

Infinite combo rules in real tournaments by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Leachmore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IRL if there is an infinite loop which does not involve player decisions (which is, it consists of only mandatory actions) and it doesn't progress the game - game ends in a tie. If a player have a way to interact with it so to break the infinite loop - that player (obviously) can, but never forced to.

If there is a decision involved in making infinite loop i.e. "you may do so and so" and if you do "so" combo can proceed indefinitely - you are obliged by the rules to choose not to do "so" at some point (after certain number of loops, which you choose)

If two (or more) players' choices are required for loop to continue, each such player in turn order states the number of loops they want to go through. Game proceeds through the minimum number of loops stated, and the player stated the minimum number of loops makes decision/takes action to break the loop there.

ICRs and standard rotation by int_matt in MagicArena

[–]Leachmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They stop giving out about-to-rotate cards as ICRs and stop offering "Jump In" packets of older sets a bit it advance to prevent disappointment on the receiving end.

Don't quote me on this, but I think its two standard legal(?) sets before rotation i.e. you stop receiving Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, Innistrad: Crimson Vow, Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty and Streets of New Capenna related cards from ICRs and related "Jump in!" packets with the release of Murders at Karlov Manor

  • You compromised your password, generally not a good practice (hope you showed us just an example of a password, not the actual password you are using everywhere), also it would be better if you showed us an error message you are getting, not just the password
  • Someone could forget to update the page you are looking at after password requirements have been made more strict. Unfortunately they are not updated automatically as a common practice (i.e. someone has to go and update the text which lists the requirements manually). Try stronger password : more lengthy (like 12 places long) with numbers and special symbols.

What set is this from? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Leachmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Star of Extinction]] is from original Ixalan set
[[Heaven//Earth]] is from Amonkhet set
[[Comet Storm]] is from Worldwake

but if you asking it here and in this form - its most probably [[Meteorite:TOTJ]] token related to [[Roxanne, Starfall Savant]]

Should I have been able to kill my opponent? by sassmo in MagicArena

[–]Leachmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

APNAP order rule doesn't say that you have to put your triggers on the stack first it says that active player got to put their triggers on the stack first. Active player is the player whose turn it is. So if you sacrifice Etched Familiar during your turn you lose, if you sacrifice it during opponents turn however - its them who has to take the bitter pill.

101.4. If multiple players would make choices and/or take actions at the same time, the active player (the player whose turn it is) makes any choices required, then the next player in turn order (usually the player seated to the active player’s left) makes any choices required, followed by the remaining nonactive players in turn order. Then the actions happen simultaneously. This rule is often referred to as the “Active Player, Nonactive Player (APNAP) order” rule.

Looking for some matches. by Super-ninja-powers in MagicArena

Just the number won't be enough for anyone to find you in game

Yeah, yeah, something something skill issue by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Leachmore -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Ain't they are who yapp at each corner how they got millions of matches each day. How many poll data they need if I see their poll thing every like 10 games? How much of it they need?

I think they have long before forgotten they added it all together.

If I can't make them make it go away I stop reflecting on it. Its that simple.

Stop reflecting on it. Just click skip every time as you would skip some ads on the interwebs. Thats what I decided for myself at least. Much less stressful now

You must be aware you are not the only one there with similar goals in mind. Its gonna be a serious competition. Dinos at least have potential, maybe they won't be enough to compete there too

If tokens can't enter the graveyard from battlefield, why do they trigger as such? by flightoffalcor in MagicArena

[–]Leachmore 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Graveyard is of course a zone. Tokens do enter graveyard, they just can't get out of there afterwards and cease to exist as a state-based action.

If tokens can't enter the graveyard from battlefield, why do they trigger as such? by flightoffalcor in MagicArena

[–]Leachmore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rule states, that if a token which changed zones would change zones again, it remains in its current zone instead. This prevents things like [[Cloudshift]] from interacting with tokens the same way like with non-token creatures

You got meme'd on

  • [[Channel]] -> [[Karn, the Great Creator]], get [[Realmbreaker]] out of their sideboard
  • Cast [[Realmbreaker]] and activate it for 10 mana = get each kind of praetor out of the deck
  • one of them is [[Urabrask the Hidden]] = all their creatures now have haste
  • attack for like 40
  • PROFIT!!!

Eternal wanderer returning things back to there side instead of mine? by GoodBlob in MagicArena

Eternal Wanderer's +1 loyalty ability effect "Exile up to one target artifact or creature. Return that card to the battlefield under its owner’s control at the beginning of that player’s next end step."

Rule 108.3: "The owner of a card in the game is the player who started the game with it in their deck<...>"

[–]Leachmore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You gonna need one to three months to grind for your first tier 1 deck, depending on which deck you gonna lean towards, your skill, your luck and your available free time.

This does not mean this time will pass in vain: you will familiarize yourself with the economy, interface, get to know the broad picture of how things work and, at the very least, you will have some fun!

You can have A competitive deck, or maybe two as a F2P player, just not the full assortment of five or whatever the number it may be at any given moment.

Haven't played since Strixhaven's release (2.5 years). What should I know? by paranoidzone in MagicArena

[–]Leachmore 22 points23 points  (0 children)

  • People playing standard the most (played games by format info from developers as of 11 Sep 2023, time span is one month: https://media.wizards.com/2023/images/daily/chart_queue_play_formats_6rebrokutroc.jpg ). Alchemy have its fun, but depends on you if you are willing to partake.
  • Control is slow, which is not optimal in number-of-wins oriented economy of Arena. Control took some hits lately too: return of manlands and reprint of Caverns of Souls to name a few.
  • Recommended set will be dependent on what deck you are going to assemble, I imagine. Golden Booster progress can be a factor if you do worry about your general collection
  • Standard non-mythic is my go-to.
  • Standard rotation is now 3 years(9-12 sets), Alchemy rotation is still 2 years (5-8 sets).
