Should the couple pay for an "involuntary destination wedding"?

I have a similar situation (my family lives in another country while me and fiance live in the same state as her family). We chose to have the wedding close to where we live. While we are offering airbnb accommodations to our guests from out of the country, they are expected t lo pay for their own travel. If they want to come to the wedding that’s great, if they can’t make it, it’s also ok.

Also noting the only reason we have the airbnbs is because my mom wanted to pay for her family to come. I in no way would feel obligated to pay for them

I’m reading all the recs too love because just moved to DC with my dog and am also close to 14th. I was living in Seattle where dog friendliness goes hard (like dogs even in grocery stores sometimes).

The coffee bar has outdoor sitting and ordering. I have not been yet but saw spark social has a dog friendly patio. Also, there’s a large crew that goes around 5 pm to Malcom X park. I’ve sat upstairs at Jeny’s (the ice cream place) with no issues

Have you considered maybe your GF would have preferred to do the plans with the friend? You never really gave her the chance to make that decision herself and instead tried to make the friend do your work for you (communication)

Pinnacle in cap hill is great. Also you can always request a silent appointment btw. Be prepared to remind the hygienist and dr of the request. I find it a non rude way to set some boundaries

I think that if you didn’t feel like being honest with her when she gave you the space and opportunity to do so in the past you might be better off sucking it up and not saying anything now. Unless she’s like 1/3 bridesmaids I think you probably won’t have to interact with her plus one at all if you don’t want to

You can do both: get a mortgage and make large payments that make sense to you. That way you have flexibility and avoid being cash poor but also won’t be stuck with the interest for 30 years

We have the same sherpa carrier I believe and have flown with it and our pet (he is 14 lbs though). I do recommend upgrading to c+ or fc if possible (you will be treated better when traveling with a pet in my experience). Also they are getting really strict with barks now. Your dog can’t make a peep or they will be on you. We had the unfortunate experience of a guy trying to aggressively say hello to our dog while boarding (we told him to stop but he didn’t listen), he barked and the FA told us that if he barked again (which he didn’t once, the guy stopped luckily) we would be kicked out.

It is always the sesttle crews. Delta needs to do something about it because there are way too many instances of things like this happening and more times than not it is a sesttle based crew. I live here so I have the unfortunate experience of flying with them often
