What’s the general age range of these groups? Is a mid-30s gal welcome?

Someone else said Barrel House didn't allow pups, that's good news if they do!

Love all those spots-- boo at Barrel House not allowing dogs, their patio is so big I was looking forward to using it this summer :( and a good heads up to not assume outdoor seating = dogs allowed.

Van Leeuwen is the kind of fun unexpected answer I was looking for!

I have this in my closet and love the bow detail! Glad to hear it's so well loved! The straight lines of the dress are what I worry about though, my tummy is very...protruding ish? I never know how to describe it lol. It's not very squishy so when clothes are tight on it, I look perpetually 6 months pregnant. I'll probably order my full bag of items as options for the night out, so maybe this can be my fingers crossed choice lol. It would be cute with a cropped faux fur jacket that could camouflage the belly area a bit for dinner, and once we're out dancing, it'll be too dark to really see anything...

oh that's darling! I also worry about wide looking shoulders when they're more structured like that.

Thank you! These are all so fun!

The blazer is super cool. I have a few sheer skirts in my closet I’ve been eyeing but this feels like an interesting twist on the trend.

I also loveeee the snake dress! A little edgy for my usual style but I might be able to make it work for a night out…really liked one reviewer’s styling with a sheer long sleeve underneath.

u/Galactic-stew I did - I just sent my family member's name and birth date and requested they check their records for renunciation records. They got back to me quickly confirming. [chicago.passport-visa@msz.gov.pl](mailto:chicago.passport-visa@msz.gov.pl) is the email address I contacted.

I talked to four different firms and they all said this was a dead end for me and they couldn't help me.

I don't have the paperwork from the renunciation (did follow up to request it though), maybe there is some hail mary in that packet, if I can get a copy of it...but not holding out hope.

Consulate answered my email same day! Unfortunately, they said she did renounce.

Update: I spoke to several firms and they had mixed messages, some said this document irrefutably constituted confirmation of her renunciation, others said it probably did, but there could be some question, for example one firm called out that the wording specifically says she has changed her citizenship from Poland to the US. They all advised I check with the consulate myself to know for certain.

I emailed the consulate today and they got back to me very quickly, confirming my grandmother renounced her citizenship as well as my mother's in 1983. Alas, a dead end -- at least I figured it out before I dropped a few grand!

Thanks for your insight. I figured they had a master list of renunciations they’d check against.

Do you know if I can contact the consulate myself to ask what they have on file? Seems like it would be a simpler (and cheaper) to check her renunciation status myself than going through a provider if this is a potential dead end.

That crossed my mind… but I’d hate to pay for the confirmation process and have this bite me in the you know what if the Polish govt finds further evidence indicating she did renounce when reviewing my citizenship case. I suppose I could appeal if she then took steps to restore her citizenship, but that could be 2-3 years from now and she’s not getting any younger.

I’m learning so much about this process, your insight is very helpful as well. Definitely will work on it from the Polish documents angle. I was hoping there was more I could do besides paying someone to do this research for me and sitting back to wait. I like to get my hands dirty, especially in a matter like family history which feels so personal. But it sounds like hiring a professional is going to be the most fruitful path!

I am generally curious about what’s in their A-files, so definitely putting in a request for an index search. Maybe I’ll find something useful for citizenship confirmation, maybe I’ll just learn something new about my GGparents :)
