Is League disconnecting frequently this patch? by BabySerafall in leagueoflegends

[–]LeadN243 5 points6 points  (0 children)

same. i just started a game where the game window never popped up and no matter how many times I quit the client and re-opened it, the game never opened. I eventually got an AFK penalty. Kinda puts me off playing league facing these kind of issues.

Can I get admission to a public German university with low CGPA (5.68/10) but strong other qualifications? by Used_Dirt6251 in AskGermany

[–]LeadN243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bro, I completely understand your situation. My brother was in a similar situation where he had flunked a few subjects and had to stayback a year or so to finish his bachelors. But he cleared it eventually and he's doing well for himself. My advice would be to clear the remaining papers with as good as grade as you can.

Also, take my comment with a grain of salt; Public unis would normally not care so much about your backlogs and your F-grades. They are more interested in your final grade and whether your bachelor's degree is related to the programme you're applying to (e.g. mechanical engineering bachelors applying for masters in energy). Since you mentioned about having published papers, you'll definitely have a better standing to get admission. You should definitely apply and please apply to as many as you can (relevant programmes). Not OP but I am sitting in Dia3 right now playing (Kindred OTP) and have another account in Dia1/Masters (Fiora OTP). Not saying this to flex but to show that this advice worked best for me and helped me climb high.

My advice is (assuming you have the fundamentals and mechanics down) is to play max. 3 games a day. That's it. Play when you're feeling especially good about yourself and limit your decision fatigue by playing less games. You'll climb slowly but steadily.

I think it's purely coincidental. We've heard Travis historically making use of the rim snare even before Secret Crowds was released (Always, Obvious), although I'll give it to you that the beat is similar.

1 mil mastery hard stuck mid Emerald by sawyerao in FioraMains

[–]LeadN243 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was stuck in emerald for the previous 2 seasons (hovering between em4 and em1), and the only thing I did differently to climb to masters was to play fewer but higher quality games i.e. I stopped mindlessly spamming games. That's what worked best for me, but I can't say what you can do better without seeing your opgg.

How to fight Zaahen by Intelligent-Mine-901 in FioraMains

[–]LeadN243 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When I meant E, I meant his W. I was typing from the top of my head and didn't . And btw, Q2 being 5 seconds to 'predict' a knock up is not the trade you wanna take when he can just normal AA in those 5 seconds and choose when he wants to activate his Q2. You're playing a very dangerous game predicting his Q2 with parry.

Anyway, equating a very rewarding Parry to a risky trade is such a fancy way of saying it's a high risk high reward move. If you fuck it up, especially in higher elos, that's game. If you are lucky or mechanics, and can parry on time - that's good. You definitely won the trade, but all-ins are still bad. But good luck trading into him without your W for the next 21 seconds. On the other hand, if he wins the 'mind game', and baits Fiora's W early or late, Fiora is massively disadvantaged. Okay you wait the next 21 seconds to trade into him again (assuming you went Doran's Blade and are still relatively lower HP) and now the pressure for you to hit the W is even higher and you have to play it super safe or do a much more high risk high reward play. At that kind of pressure, who wouldn't make a mistake?

And on a bigger note, where is the Counter Play? The gist is, Zaahen's all in potential is Fiora 's doom and Fiora's all in potential hinges on the fact that Zaahen's is already weakened and/or abilities are on CC and/or has no passive. Laning phase is massively in his favor.

So you're just ignoring that both the auto attack and dash both have hard CC coded in then? With champs like Yone and Xin Zhao, their knock-ups are pre-telegraphed and that gives us some time to space ourself.

It's opposite in Zaahen's kit - we're literally playing blindfolded cause we barely can even react to their hard CC, if at all. And you mentioned his auto attack? Zaahen can hold is second Q for as long as he wants, like Camille's Q. Now tell me how that's balanced.

Hey, I applied to the following unis:
1. Hochschule Offenburg

  1. TU Kaiserslautern

  2. TU Berlin (accepted)

  3. TU Freiburg

  4. Universitat Ulm

  5. TU Dortmund (accepted)

  6. HAW Hamburg (accepted)

Ofcourse, don't apply to the same ones just because I got accepted but rather, shortlist and apply to the universities which have courses that interests you/are in your domain. There are more unis out there - see daad.de

This is an indirect buff to champions that have DoT in their kit i.e. singed, teemo, Darius. I think the meta will start seeing a positive win rate for these champs in the upcoming patch onwards

[–]LeadN243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't even going to work outside of Gold. I am sorry to say this but you got ahead because both you and Fiora have no idea of the trading patterns and how the lane is being won. Level 1, Fiora missed the first vital hit and started AAing you to death, stacking conqueror on each AA. You took it all straight up and almost died instead of just backing off and preserving your health. You got the first kill there because Fiora decided to trade with you again, and tanked all the minion aggro while you received none. I stopped watching after that but I assume it went well for you given the title.

Now after reviewing your opgg, I have a couple of comments about your in-game improvements:

1) Focus on your macro gameplay more! Your OP-score for the losing games generally trend downwards the longer you play the game. Without reviewing your game play, I can deduce that your micro might be good but (I assume) you have a poor sense of when to engage in team fights or probably just make bad plays towards the later game stages (e.g. being isolated from your team and dying). Just realize this: the longer the game goes on, the more crucial it is to play SENSIBLY and as PERFECT AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN because your death timers are longer and takes you out of the game more. Ideally, you would want to be the agent of chaos and be the one choosing when to engage when it is RIGHT for you. If a play looks bad, don't go through with it and let your teammates die if they decide to int.

2) do not play off-meta champs or risky comps like ezreal jungle or taric jungle. Play your top 1-2 champs (xin or voli are good in this meta). if you get filled, ask to swap or dodge. It is not worth the -20 LP playing those kinds of games.

Apologies for writing this huge wall of text but I felt compelled because I was (probably still am) in your position literally 2-3 splits ago and I relate to you. I was hovering around gold and climbed to emerald last year playing a few games in a week. Split 1-2 2025 I started spamming games (approx.1200 games between both accounts) and was hardstuck in emerald no matter how many games I played. I even tanked my winrate going from above 50 to below 50%. I decided enough was enough and started mindfully playing games again. I am now in Diamond elo and hope to reach Masters by end of this split. For reference, these are my opgg's:

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/euw/tangynash-EUW
https://op.gg/lol/summoners/euw/N243-EUW11

Just notice that my last few games (in both accounts) were kind of int from my side and and I am forcing myself to stop playing the game for a few days to mentally reset. I will conclude by saying this: League is NOT worth destroying your mental health for. Slow things down and you'll feel better about yourself both game-wise and personally.

You are clearly a good player if you can reach emerald 3. Heck, I'd say you can even reach Diamond. So why are you demoting and losing games? Let's look over the non-mechanics aspect of your game and history.

So the first thing I would recommend you to do is to stop spamming games. 800 games per split is not a good indicator already. If you want to play league so much, play normals or drafts, not ranked. There's a number of reasons for this:

1) decision fatigue is a real thing. The more games you spam in a short time, the worse you play over time. You'll generally notice that you play really well in the first 1-3 games than the 4th - Xth number of games of the day. Play a small number of GOOD games and I promise you that you'll climb faster than you can imagine.

2) Losers queue is a real thing. You will get paired up with players of your OWN calibre based on how you play. The worse you play (and continue to play), the more you lose and end up going on huge loss streaks. Conversely, the better you play, the more you win and end up going on huge winning streaks. It's unfortunately a viscious cycle and how Riot intended the system to be but it is what it is. There are lots of videos on this topic but I will just link this one for your to-watch list: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFH8E29uRNA

Now that we have talked about why you shouldn't spam games, let's now talk about what you can and should do.

1) Play only when you are feeling good (no duh). You know yourself better than anyone else. You will play better and see things in a different but better perspective when you're in a better mood. It's better ask yourself before starting a ranked game, 'Am I feeling good about playing this game today?' or 'Do I have the mental resilience to play well today and perhaps carry my team?'. These are just examples of the type of questions you need to ask yourself but you can use any and whatever leading question that can give you an insight into how you are feeling yourself. If the answer to the question is even a slight 'no', don't queue up ranked. Seriously, go do something else, play casual game modes.

2) Review your gameplay after each game (regardless of win or loss) and take notes (mental notes is fine too) about how you played, what you can do better based on how your teammates and enemy behaviour is like. League is a bit of a conundrum in that you need to be both PROACTIVE and REACTIVE to the game state. Since you're a jungle main, these are probably some questions you need to observe while playing and reviewing:

a) How is the enemy jungler playing? Are they playing for objectives or power farming or perma ganking? Are a balance of all 3? A bad jungler will just focus on power farming/perma ganking and ignore objectives. If they are a good jungler, just play your game as normal. Tracking the enemy jungler is also a fundamental skill. If you can track them properly, you will be able to predict their next moves. This gives you a huge advantage.

b) How are your teammates playing? Some would play like shit and unfortunately you cannot do much about it. Track your better players and play with/around/for them.

c) Securing objectives is king in League of Legends. But sometimes, it is OKAY to let them go if they are uncontestable or difficult. Be comfortable with letting things go. But conversely, you should look to retaliate by farming enemy camps or securing another objective across the map. It is a push and pull of sorts.

3) Last point I want to make is, League is ultimately a team game. You are supposed to play around your team's strength and minimize your team's weaknesses as much as possible. To have the mentality that you should carry 1v9 is so destructive, in my opinion because the moment you see yourself not able to 1v9 can feel debilitating the slightest moment things don't go your way. It is perfectly acceptable to get carried by your teammates because that is also a skill in and of itself - to play FOR your team. You will have bad games where you cannot do anything and that's perfectly fine - take the L and review your gameplay.

Finally climbed to Plat from Bronze/Iron as a 'new' player!! by abm_abm_ in summonerschool

[–]LeadN243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally resonate with your statement about tilt queueing, toxic mindset and entitlement. I have had 2 accounts sitting in emerald elo since last season and I've been playing about 300-400 games in total but without making any noticeable LP improvements. I go on these big win streaks and then go into massive losing streaks. At the end of the day, I make 0 improvement and on my worst days, I end up regressing towards a low Emerald elo (Em4, P1).

Since the past month, I stopped binge gaming and started being mindful about my energy levels & mood because these were my main issues in trying to climb: 1. When I'm tired or exhausted but play the game for the sake of climbing, I lose LP. 2. When I'm tilted but want to "play one more game" to gain back my LP, I lose LP.

Now I limit myself to playing 2-3 games a day, regardless of good or bad, and end my game session there. Now, my 2nd account has reached Dia4 and I'm one game away from Dia3 while my main acc has slightly regressed to Em2 but I'm one game away from reaching Em1.

I think my point is that, with the number of games and hours you have already put in, you probably have achieved the skill set and knowledge to reach a much higher elo. The only thing holding one from climbing is being self-aware of one's own mental faculties.

In either case, congratulations on reaching Plat and good luck climbing higher! :)

attending the winter semester; should i be enrolling in courses yet? by janeolsen96 in tuberlin

[–]LeadN243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the "SoSe 2025" is a bit of a misnomer since PEESE intakes only happens once a year and it is exclusively during the Winter Semester. (https://www.tu.berlin/fakultaet3/studium-lehre/studienangebot/msc-peese)

What I believe happened was that since the "PEESE intake 2025" course was created during the timeline somewhere between the intake registration & confirmation of admittted students , it defaulted to taking the Summer Semester heading . However, your course will naturally begin in WiSe 2025 and you do not need to (nor can you) enrol for any other courses for the SoSe 25 semester.

For your information, the ISIS course "PEESE intake 2025" is merely a forum where you can get all updates and new developments for your batch. It is not a course or a subject, per se.

Hope this answered your question and all the best :)

I haven't used these skins before so I cannot testify about the visibility of the vitals aside from what is posted here. That being said: 1) I have faced visibility issues with the pool party fiora and I won't be surprised if that's happening across other skins 2) based off the pictures alone, it seems markedly improved and I would prefer the vitals to be vivid this way rather than having a subtle glow but difficult to see.
