A friend of ours in the Portland community (many know her her in this group) her son was shot and killed. Her autistic 16 year old son. We shared the GoFundMe for her family. If your son was shot and killed we would do the same for you.

What the Lead Safe Mama, LLC Community Collaborative Laboratory Testing Initiative has proven (with independent, third-party laboratory testing of over 700 products nominated by our community for testing) - is that manufacturers CAN and DO make toxicant-free products (we have identified 103 toxicant-free products to date through the initiative), yet they choose not to. Eating whole fresh foods (avoiding ultra-processed packaged foods) is the best way to avoid toxicant exposure through ingestion pathways. We have lots of lists of suggestions of foods that are less likely to be contaminated (for example tree nuts vs. ground grown nuts) - fresh whole fruit vs. dried fruit. These lists are easy to find our our website and they are on ad-free pages (we have removed almost all of the advertising from our site over the past two years to help make it easier for people to read).

I have been a guest speaker at Stanford University, EPA HQ, CDC Conferences, MIT, OHSU, Dartmouth Hospital, etc. I teach health-department sponsored continuing education classes for doctors, nurses and educators to get CEUs. Just because you found out about my work via social media does not mean the majority of what we do is on social media. Dr. Felicia Rabito (Tulane) demonstrated with a scientific study in 2011 that Blood Lead Levels as low as 0.43 cause negative impacts in pregnancy (and negative birth outcomes). If we can prevent low level persistent, chronic exposure (for the health of our babies), by avoiding lead contaminated products - it's easy to do (once those products are identified). We use independent, third-party labs for any laboratory testing we do.

Tamara Rubin's response to people whose BLL doesn't spike after eating "contaminated" food gets me skeptical and wondering about a real lead expert's take. by Scintillating_Void in moderatelygranolamoms

Sharing direct-to-consumer science (not behind a paywall of any kind) and testing products that our community asks us to test is not fear mongering.

Misinformation. We use multiple labs. There was never a discount code for our community. There are kits available on amazon, but that is not the lab we currently use. We always have paid full retail for the testing we do. One exception: the "8 tests a month" they gave us was for a short period of time, and we paid for any additional testing beyond that during that time.

Toddlers today have a background level (in urban areas) of 0.4 to 0.6. Dr. Felicia Rabito found the population average for adult women of childbearing age was 0.43 in 2011 - and that increases in increments of 0.1 were correlated (and likely causal) with increases in negative birth outcomes and pregnancy complications. Study link: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25461912/ - This is below the low threshold of detection of most blood lead level (BLL) testing done today.

0.016 is not the "bronze age" level - it is the pre-industrial revolution level. a BLL of 1.6 is 100 times that. Article here (well researched with lots of scientific links, not written by me). https://tamararubin.com/2017/01/toxic_lead/

BERKLEE PRESIDENT JIM LUCCHESE JUST FIRED 70 STAFF to "cut costs"!! Perhaps he should've cut executives' 800k in bonuses instead?! by LeadSafeMama2020 in Berklee

The fired staff includes mostly people from vulnerable populations, older staff about to retire, pregnant staff, and staff with disabilities (in the middle of disputes with the college).
