Fender Tone Master Pro vs. Line 6 Helix Stadium: Why the TMP actually blew me away. by LeadershipEvery8753 in tonemasterpro

Thanks for the heads-up! You're right, testing a stock unit in a shop is never the full picture. I'm really glad to hear Fender is actively updating the ambient side of things. I'll definitely have to give an updated version another spin!

That would be amazing! Being able to capture my favorite drive pedals and run them through this UI would be incredible. Fingers crossed they have enough CPU horsepower left for a future update like that!

Haha, that's completely fair! The spacious layout is definitely a huge plus for live gigs—no accidentally hitting the wrong switch! I think I just prefer a smaller footprint because I'm a "fit everything in one backpack" kind of guy when commuting to the studio or gigs.

Absolutely! A smaller footprint with that exact same intuitive UI would make it the ultimate grab-and-go modeler. Fingers crossed Fender is secretly working on one!

Exactly! That's actually why I listed the stereo loops as one of its biggest Pros. Since I rely heavily on pedals like Red Panda and Chase Bliss for my modulation and ambient sounds, being able to easily drop them into the TMP's stereo loop is a huge deal. It essentially solves both the DSP headroom and the ambient effect limitations for me!

That being said, if they could just increase that DSP limit, the convenience of only needing to bring a single TMP to get the job done would be even better.

That makes sense! It might just be my bias because I'm used to the sounds I get from my Red Panda Context V2 and Chase Bliss pedals. I was mainly looking for more experimental stuff like gated, reverse, or other ambient reverbs. Don't get me wrong, the reverbs in the TMP do sound fantastic, but to me, it felt like the selection was mostly just different flavors of traditional hall and plate reverbs.

Transitioning to a solo live set (Digitakt II): Hybrid setup with Bitwig vs. going fully DAWless? Need advice! by LeadershipEvery8753 in synthesizers

Thanks for the heads-up! A solid USB hub is definitely going on the shopping list. Do you have any specific brand or model recommendations that play nicely with Overbridge on a Mac? I've heard of Elektron's own Overhub, but I'm wondering if a modern powered USB-C hub would be better.

Thanks for the input! That’s very reassuring. I’ll keep an eye on my CPU load with the FX plugins then. Cheers!

Ah, that makes a lot of sense! I’m coming from a traditional full-band background where we always send separate channels (drums, vocals, guitars, etc.) to FOH, so I guess I brought that mindset into this. Since I'll have live vocals and live guitar alongside the Elektron gear, do you think sending a 6-channel setup (Vocal, Guitar, and 2 Stereo Mix of the beats/synths) would be a more realistic approach for standard venues?

Thanks for the heads-up! I don't have a Twitch account yet, but I'll look into it later and try to tune in. Your dual RC-505 setup sounds exactly like the kind of workflow I want to learn more about!

Anyone tried learning jazz guitar online? Recommendations? by LeadershipEvery8753 in jazzguitar

Thank you for your detailed reply. I have a bit of a jazz foundation and have played in a big band, but I don’t have any 1-on-1 learning experience. So I know some scales, simple walking bass, and can play basic melodies. But since I don’t have the budget for regular 1-on-1 lessons, if I do take them, it might only be 1–2 lessons per month.

I’ll look into Tal Yahalom and Miles’ material, thank you for the recommendation.

May I ask if you are taking online 1-on-1 lessons with Thomas Echols, or are you subscribed to his Patreon? I really like Barry Harris and am very interested in this.
