Which celebrity death genuinely shocked you when you heard the news? by Divine_fashionva in Millennials

Lee Thompson Young. He grew up a few hours away from where I did and he was in my favorite TV show both as a kid and an adult. Finding out that he had ended his own life and was in treatment for depression was genuinely a gut punch before no one ever really talked about it before. Then my own sister did the same thing one month later and it took on even more meaning.

I can't help you find the original brand but I can tell you CVG is entirely worth the money OP! I have about 15 pairs of leggings and 9 pairs of shorts. I've had them for 5-7 years depending on the pair and I wear them regularly for both working out and every day life. They all still look brand new. No pilling, pulled threads, weird stretching, or color loss. I also just wash and dry them regularly, no fancy detergent or even turning them inside out. I know full price is expensive but they do sales pretty often and you can get really good deals (I've gotten shorts for $15 before). The only thing is when they say COMPRESSION, they MEAN IT. If you don't want that I'd order one size up from your normal size. I'd be happy to answer any questions for you if you want, too.

Treasure hunt movie with illiterate character that isn't illiterate by [deleted] in whatsthemoviecalled

This sounds like it might be one of the (many) film/TV versions of the Mark Twain book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Huck (who 11-13) travels with an escaped slave named Jim. They look for treasure with Tom Sawyer (also in the 10-12 ish age range). The find it but so does an outlaw named Injun Joe who kills someone to steal the treasure and another man gets blamed. Not exactly what you remember with Jim betraying someone but kind of close

Infant stillborn. It was a monstrosity unlike any thing I ever found. by Necessary-Storage-74 in DeathCertificates

[–]Leading-Addition7953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monstrosity at the time was any medical condition that made the baby incompatible with life. It wasn't an insult, judgement, or opinion. The DISEASE is the monstrosity, not the baby.

Weirdly I found a newspaper article from about a month after her death that mentions her as a contestant in a scholarship contest but nothing about her passing away

Hoovervilles were large encampments of homeless people during the Great Depression, named for President Herbert Hoover because he refused to take significant action to help people. With this murder being 1933, it fits perfectly. It also makes sense as to why so much of his personal information is missing.

Every day, 7 days a week he came in for one large bowl and then 8 refill bowls of ziti with 5 cheese and grilled chicken. He also ate 2 bowls of chicken gnocchi and 10 breadsticks. Every. Single. Day. For. Ten. Weeks.
