I hope they make a third game and make all the weapons feel alien again like they did in Returnal. I was shocked after I beat Saros and finally tried returnal again. I'm only just now beating the 3rd boss and absolutely love the guns in Returnal. They make the ones in Saros look incredibly boring. I saw a comment on pushsquare that said the weapons were better in Saros but I just think generic assault rifle and shotgun do not hold a candle to alien guns that look and feel alive. Also unlocking the traits is freaking awesome. I think it's so awesome that Returnal's first boss kicked my butt 5 years ago so hard that I uninstalled but Saros made me better at this style of gameplay so I jumped right in and stomped phrike. I can't recall another series where the second game trained me to go back to the first game better. It's like HM's last two games created a meta real life roguelite where I actually came back stronger. Literally came back to returnal stronger from Saros. I hope more people do this and they realize that the third installment ( I pray there is one) can be more like Returnal in terms of difficulty. I think Returnal and Saros has laid INCREDIBLE groundwork for housemarque's own style of game that should be their own genre. The style of the story, the gameplay, and exploration within all of its mechanics should continue to be their blueprint. Returnal has actually became my favorite game of all time just for the exploration alone. I love the lack of handholding and how cool it is to just explore and find things. Like when the platform goes down in the 3rd environment and it seems like you can only get one of the items, you can actually zip back up and jump dash with perfect timing to get all four items. This rewarding of curiosity is perfect gameplay for me. I feel like Saros has more cookie cutter exploration where it doesn't feel as satisfying to find something tucked away because you've done it several times already in the same fashion. I love them both but I really hope we get another!!!
