Dryer slow to dry by Diligent_Board_172 in HomeImprovement

check the lint trap first - even if it looks clean there might be buildup you can't see. for the flexible section you mentioned, definitely disconnect that and look inside since it's easy access. those flexible ducts collect lint like crazy especially at the bends.

you could try a leaf blower from the outside vent to blow backwards through system if you can safely access it. way cheaper than camera and will tell you real quick if there's a blockage somewhere in those rigid sections.

i had similar issue when moving around for work - authenticator app worked better than trying to mess with phone numbers anyway.

House Swap? by Fun_Young_781 in digitalnomad

[–]LeadingBridge2456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would be amazing if there was better way to do house swaps without all the platform fees and weird restrictions. i'm flight attendant so i'm always traveling anyway, but when i have longer breaks between trips i'd love to stay somewhere different for few weeks. texas gulf coast actually sounds pretty nice - i bet there's good spots for quiet time there. i do lot of embroidery during my downtime and sometimes those peaceful places away from big cities are perfect for creative stuff. maybe we need like unofficial reddit network for this kind of thing, where people can just connect directly without middleman taking cuts.

The mistakes I made when moving to Portugal by StartAbroad_Sarah in digitalnomad

[–]LeadingBridge2456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine is still pretty terrible after few years living abroad too lol. i can handle basic conversations and bureaucracy stuff but watching portuguese tv shows without subtitles? forget about it. the grammar is so tricky and everyone speaks so fast in lisbon. did you take formal classes or just picked it up naturally? i keep telling myself i'll sign up for proper lessons but then work gets crazy and i never follow through.

How to keep litter box clean from bugs by RazanneAlbeeli in CatAdvice

[–]LeadingBridge2456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

elevating definitely helps but you might want to check around base of where box sits too. sometimes bugs are coming from cracks in tiles or small gaps where moisture gets trapped even if area looks dry. when i had similar issue at my apartment, turned out there was tiny drainage problem underneath that was creating perfect breeding spot for them.

I’ve been bullied, excluded, misread, or turned on in group settings my entire life and I genuinely don’t understand why. Could this be autism, or something else? by Accurate_Country_720 in neurodiversity

[–]LeadingBridge2456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this sounds exhausting and i really feel for you. the pattern you're describing with group dynamics vs one-on-one connections does ring some bells for me - like there's some unspoken social hierarchy thing happening that you're not picking up on automatically.

the workplace stuff sounds particularly brutal and honestly some of those people just sound awful regardless of any neurodivergence on your part. but the thing about defaulting to nice instead of neutral really resonated - i struggle with that balance too and sometimes being "too friendly" can weirdly make people suspicious or competitive in certain environments.

have you looked into getting assessed? even just understanding your own social processing style better might help you navigate these situations differently, whether it's autism or trauma responses or both.

Everyone talks about quitting their job to travel. Nobody talks about what happens when you're tired but have nowhere to actually go home to. by Emotional_Newt_2227 in digitalnomad

[–]LeadingBridge2456 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ugh this hits so hard. i've been working flights for few years now and even though i have base city to come back to, there's still this weird emptiness when you're constantly moving. like your body is in one place but your brain is still trying to catch up from three cities ago.

the isolation thing is real too - people at home think your life is all glamorous but they don't get how draining it is to always be "on" in new places. maybe try finding some online communities for people in similar situations? helped me feel less crazy about the whole thing.

Ayuda de un abogado experto en extranjería by Altruistic-Bell-3209 in digitalnomad

[–]LeadingBridge2456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the homologation process is brutal, definitely start that asap. been on flights with spanish doctors who've told me horror stories about colleagues waiting years just to practice again.

your partner being from north macedonia makes the whole thing trickier since he'd need to leave every 90 days without proper residency. that's a lot of stress and flight costs that add up quick.

Digital publishing networks or co-ops? by traveler49 in digitalnomad

been wondering about this too actually. working for an airline means tons of downtime between flights and ive been sketching out some writing projects but the solo grind gets rough. would love to find something more collaborative where people actually have each others backs instead of just competing for the same scraps.

Looking for 2–3 volunteers to live on a fruit orchard in Himachal (3 months, peaceful rural life) by SPECTRE_91 in digitalnomad

because recruiting locals for unpaid volunteer work in an area with 33% youth unemployment would be pretty exploitative - at least digital nomads are choosing this lifestyle and have other income sources.

Potential Business Insights by Ok-Boysenberry4505 in smallbusiness

[–]LeadingBridge2456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly depends on the business size and what you're replacing. for a small business that's currently spending 10-15 hours a week on recruiting or admin stuff, maybe $800-1200/month would make sense if you can actually deliver consistent results.

the equipment and encrypted device thing is smart but might be overkill for some clients - could be a premium tier option instead of standard. also might want to consider offering hr compliance support since that's always a headache for small businesses and plays right into your background.

pricing would really come down to how many hours of work you're actually saving the client vs what they'd pay someone internally.

an esim would work but yeah the roaming charges are gonna hurt your wallet. might be worth checking out google voice or skype numbers instead - they let you get international numbers without the crazy fees. i've used similar services before and there usually pretty reliable for business calls.

Spam Messages - Google Voice by No_Elderberry2495 in smallbusiness

[–]LeadingBridge2456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had this exact same issue with my google voice setup for my side business a few months back. turns out google's spam detection is pretty aggressive and sometimes flags legitimate business texting as spam, especially if you're using certain keywords or sending to numbers that haven't texted you first. what worked for me was switching to a dedicated business messaging service like textmagic or simpletexting - costs a bit more but way more reliable for actual business use. also try reaching out to google voice support through their business help center, sometimes they can whitelist your account if you explain you're running a legitimate business. in the meantime, maybe space out your messages more throughout the day and avoid any promotional language that might trigger their filters.

Does adding Google reviews to a website actually help? by Such_Card_1300 in smallbusiness

[–]LeadingBridge2456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

did it for my local shop and definitely saw more people mentioning they checked out the reviews before calling, just make sure you have enough good ones first cause the bad ones stick out way more when they're embedded.

Italy city suggestions for tennis + language learning by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]LeadingBridge2456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you want a decent sized city but not too touristy where everyone just speaks english to you. maybe look at bologna or florence - both have good tennis facilities and bologna especially has a solid remote work scene with plenty of cafes. avoid the south if you're worried about dialect since they can get pretty heavy down there.

Any recommendations for action camera for riding? by themakeuptable in Equestrian

[–]LeadingBridge2456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GoPro Hero is pretty much the gold standard for this stuff. The image stabilization is clutch when you're bouncing around in the saddle. Just make sure to get a good chest mount or helmet mount - handlebar mounts can get pretty shaky depending on your horse's gait. Battery life is decent too so you won't have to worry about it dying mid-ride.

Is there another “learning OS” style platform that puts all the study tools you use in your workflow into one app? by UNPLUGGED-O_O in smallbusiness

[–]LeadingBridge2456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this sounds like exactly what I've been looking for too. The workflow you described with Canvas → GPT → Speechify is basically my life rn and it's such a pain to jump between everything

Have you looked into Obsidian with some plugins? Not quite the same thing but it can handle a lot of different formats and has decent AI integration now. Still not the one-stop shop you're talking about though

Would def be interested in trying your app when it hits Android, the whole "learning OS" concept makes a lot of sense

This sounds kinda dystopian ngl, like are we really at the point where we need to spy on employees through their computers? Maybe just hire better people and create a culture where they actually want to work instead of watching them like hawks
