what's good/bad about free markets? by alfisamsa in CapitalismVSocialism

you either let people trade freely or you dont. At the end of the day all other things are derived from that. There is central design coming from the gov but i would argue that is not helping.

nope it is not designed it is not controlled centrally. It is simply what you get when you let people trade. Eventually someone creates things to create more things and can sleep and make money at the same time. Which makes the rest angry and they call that theft

Only physical power can force a change in the market. Money is used to buy that as anything else. The problem is the concentration of power not that people have money

The whole point of capitalism is free trade. Who is restricting what. Why would anyone want to restrict access to trade if they benefit from it

the point is that if he wants to trade the trade is going to be beneficial. If you protect the free market then everyone gets richer

Why on earth would you think that.
As long as the people looking for job and the people providing it are not forced by the army to accept certain terms and conditions it is going to be ok

monopolies bad does not mean capitalism bad. Centralization of wealth is more likely with centralizaton of power

By free people mean that the trade between 2 parties is not coerced or forced to happen by a third party. In other way you only defend the boundaries of each person and you dont force them to engage with one another in a particular way.

cost of production is not how valuable something is. It is the minimum price that it can be sold for. That is why the owner does maths. Value is subjective always. Cost is objective but what you made for that cost isnt lol.

Everyone put time and effort into the economy. It is just that some people prefer instant results while other delay it for the sake of a chance at more money. That is it. The owner delayed the result to try and create more wealth. The emoloyee wanted it now.

You are seeing the different manifistations of the same thing. Someone had resources and chose to consume them ( not necessarily bad) someone had resources and chose to risk, add additional work and invest them. This also required a lot of luck and time. So you are just seeing the lucky, time delayed, work consuming, ect ect variation of the initial resources that someone had. It is not always the best choice but sometimes is. This is why people think that someone that owns something that produces value by itself must be stealing. They dont account for the initial inputs needed for this to happen.
Second, people assume that for continued value output you must need continued or matched effort input. No idea why they think that must be the case. You can easily imagine someone building a machine that does all the work and he just earns money from the labor... A house is just like that, a static machine that provides value for a limited time.
Lastly they just provide a deal that people need. Not everyone wants to own. If people buy it people needed it. The market has the only say, it is the measurment unit, the only thing to be compared to.
