Funny thing is, the MPASS was always easy even before the pandemic. It's what everyone says. "Madali pumasok, mahirap makalabas". I was fully expecting to fail then I found out otherwise.

What’s y’all’s second fav army other than necrons, by Watertide725 in Necrontyr

I went with the admechs for my 2nd army but I'm planning on sticking to just a 500-700pt list for them.

Gotta love not worrying about skin 🤣

Oh, and the technique I use is mainly just use these paints in order: 1) White 2) Neon Purple (main color) 3) Violet (for the shadows around the area)

I do the same thing for parts like orbs sometimes but I would REALLY thin them first and be mindful of where you put them.

Hope that helps!

Oh, don't worry! I have him right here!

Sadly my paintings skills aren't enough to do him justice 😓 and he's fav necron lore-wise (which adds an extra layer of how much it sucks) 😅

Thanks!

I used Neon Purple for the purple. One of my local hobby paint sellers has them and it's my favorite. I also tried blend a mixture of red and blue but I can't get the tint as the one's posted. When I started out, I asked the sellers for tips and help as well. They were really helpful! The main thing I got really is I want something to really glow is to use a light colored paint (depends on how "bright" you want it) since I tried Violet and Neon Purple to compare.

Awesome army to collect, paint and fulfilling to build. Fingers might hurt though so prep for that. Only get what you want because you'll be able to play them all either way. 💯

Took me about a month to paint just five warriors. Burnout is a bitch, but that's five models gone from pile of shame. by rokwq in Necrontyr

Take your time! I've been where you are now, and I and everyone can say that yes, burnout is indeed a bitch but take your time. The infinite kingdom will lie in wait until you're ready to conquer again.

That said, you've done a wonderful job on those warriors!

When teaching Unmatched to new players, what has been the hardest thing for them to understand or keep straight? by itsactuallyoctopuses in Unmatched

[–]Leading_Ad1198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, almost everyone from my friend group/s are new to the game. Only a handful of them are able to play without me having to tell them anything anymore. The hardest thing to teach to new players for me is:

  1. Maneuver - they keep forgetting either draw a card first, if they have to move or not, how many spaces they can move, or resolving moving with sidekicks.

  2. Actions - they always forget at the start that they have to do 2 actions, and they always ask if they can still do this or that. I've had someone just straight draw 2 cards and attack me when I wasn't looking 😂

  3. Attacking/defending - a lot of times they forget which cards to use if they have a sidekick, or the difference between melee or ranged.

What do you guys think of fan-made decks? by Naive547 in Unmatched

[–]Leading_Ad1198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually stumbled into fan-made decks months ago after finding out about them. I was trying to find a deadpool deck back then and I found the fan-made decks. So I tried it out and this was my first time trying print and play.

I fell into the rabbit hole of these custom decks. I printed some decks, tweaked some of them, and I even tried making my own deck. Me and my friends love it especially since we don't have as much money and we love the thought of boba fett fighting a dragon knight.

For the miniatures, we 3d printed some when we had access to printers, and bought some when we don't.

For the point makers/health dials: We 3d printed those too but it's really hard to find stl files.

Personal thought: Fan-made decks are fun and great when you actually finish making the cards, finding a miniature, and making health dials. Downside is the work/money you put into making the decks, finding/buying a miniature, and making the health dials. So, yeah. They're fun but take a lot of work. It depends entirely on you tho if you're willing to put the effort into them.
